There's a lot of good Mormon literature out there! Whether your taste is for "clean" stories tailored to an LDS audience, or powerful stories about Mormon themes, carefully crafted literary stories, historical novels, speculation fiction, children's books, romances, books about life challenges, or pretty much any genre. Some of it is carried in LDS bookstores, but a lot of it isn't--especially stuff that may be more literary, edgy, or realistic.

Here are a few sites to start investigating if you might be interested in this:

- Whitney Awards website ( www.whitneyawards.com ). These are a set of awards given annually for the best novels by an LDS writer in a number of categories, including romance, youth fiction, historical, speculative, mystery/suspense, and general fiction. Both the award-winners and the nominees are well worth checking into! (My own novel, No Going Back, was a finalist for the 2009 general fiction award.)

- Association for Mormon Letters ( aml-online.org ) This excellent website features links to winners of the organization's annual awards for literature, an archive with hundreds of book and movie reviews, and a fascinating blog on topics related to Mormon literature.

- A Motley Vision: Mormon Arts and Culture blog ( www.motleyvision.org ) features regular posts from a variety of contributors (including Yours Truly) on a variety of topics, again related to Mormon arts and literature.

(I found this info posted by Mr Langford on another site and thought it was pertinent)
