Hi Readers!
We're wondering - what type of books would you like to see us review on the blog? Fiction? Memoir? Travel?

There are so many options out there - it can be tough for us to choose! Let us know what you'd like to see featured!

Happy Reading!

M.E. Harper (meharper) As a Goodreads author, I think it's wonderful that you are going to review books on your blog. I personally love books that entertain, but are still thought provoking and send a positive message.

Reviewing short stories/short story collections would be really cool. Memoirs would be great as well. Really, as long as the work offers some kind of literary merit, I would use the reviews as a nudge in the direction of the books I choose to read.

j.s.s. (jss617) I think a wide variety of books not just in one genre would be nice. It would help those of us stuck in ruts find new material and broaden our horizons.

Ronna (ronnamichelle) | 2 comments I agree with Jinny: I love trying different genres and everyone could work on broadening their horizons.

message 7: by Alyssa Comeau (new)

Alyssa Comeau I agree that it would be cool if you did books with a more vintage or indie feel to them to go with the items you sell. Set in the past or something.

I personally prefer fiction over non-fiction.

Patti Kovach (libraryowl) I'm a Librarian and I love ModCloth-so I'm really excited about this group! I like books that sort of transport me somewhere else, or that inspire me in some way, so maybe travel writing, and books about inspirational figures/movements. And there are so many indie graphic novels that have wonderful art/stories (fiction and nonfiction).

Katharine Tapley (katetapley) | 7 comments I agree with Patti. I would love to see a graphic novel done.

I agree. Books can be a form of meditation. They can stop the internal dialogue and allow you to focus on the message - hopefully an inspirational one!

Ashley | 3 comments I really enjoy all sorts of books, and I think that any genre can be inspirational and open our eyes to new and wonderful things. So any genre can be amazing, but it is specific books from those genres which make them worthwhile.

For instance, "The Arrival" by Shaun Tan is a beautiful, wordless, graphic novel of sorts. But it isn't the fact that it is a graphic novel that makes it wonderful, but the content and character of the story itself.

So really what I look for is something new and meaningful in books. It would be cool if that could be Modcloth's focus. It can be really difficult when you don't have something specific to aim for, but it also can give you leeway to experience even better things.

Ti (pandorarevolt) | 11 comments I would like to see all kinds of books: fiction, non-fiction, poetry, essay, biography, new, classics, graphic, long story, short story. I think that the magic of the theme (fashion and literature) is in the fact that there are different options for all tastes. It would be funny to see something like The Devil Wears Prada or Shopaholic Takes Manhattan (both books where fashion is essential for the main characters) to a biography of famous or not so famous fashion designers or artists... ;)
