Sandra (sleo) | 1059 comments I remember not making head nor tail of this part when I read it the first time. This time it's making much more sense. I think I may have been tired when I read it first, as I was devouring these books like mad to get to the end!

This time through I am savoring it much more, and this part is particularly interesting to me.

The great drakes are truly magnificent and terrifying creatures. Interesting how Dakar figures out that they are in something's dream and that they daren't touch or consume anything lest they get sucked into it. The scene where the Hanshire guardsmen are attacked by those Seardluin was so gory! My god! My worst nightmare!

I'm not sure what to make of the fact they had to exit through the dragon's skull!

Sandra (sleo) | 1059 comments A quote that gave me my first laugh in a while:

"Tell my prince," Dakar grumbled. He resisted the craven urge to shut his eyes and ignore the forbidding cavern which yawned ahead of his quaking steps. "Since when did I ever swear fealty to a madman wanted dead by half the townsmen on the continent?"
