For me these are meh.... A good filler book when I am waiting for the books I really want to read.

my sister loves these, I haven't tried them I just am not darwn to them but I will be trying them at some point I love Anita too much not to try Hamiltons other writing

I will say this, if you can't handle the sex in the Anita books, don't even try these as they start out with where Anita is now with multiple partners and there are even odd body parts.

odd body parts?!?!? I'm a bit worried as to what sort of parts are used. . .O.o

I don't mind the sex itself I hate that it's all there is in some of them

I haven't read the latest Merry Gentry yet. Truth is I read the first seven because I finished all the Anita Blakes I could get and then started reading Merry.
I like her but not as much as Anita.

LKH likes to give her girls super sex powers apparently. Sex wise, these aren't as weird as Anita. Things generally stick to 1 or 2 partners, not an orgy sized bed full of people. However, Anita is a better character and the fights are better. I keep reading them though.

I really do need to get to these to see one way or the other if nothing else

Does anyone know if more books are planned for this series? She didn't have a release this year and I haven't heard anything about the next one.

I follow her on facebook and she said the next Merry book wouldn't be until 2012 I believe

I think I read somewhere that Merry was only supposed to be a six book set but the money was good so a few books got added...

hmmm I STILL haven't read Merry much to my sisters dismay. I have the first book on my shelf and I think I put it on a challenge here so maybe I shall finally knock it out

She always writes an Anita book every year though. She was doing both, but apparently it didn't work out this year.
Although Merry is still sex filled, it feels like Merry has more of a reason to be going at it seeing how she's trying to get prego.

I like the story, a Fae Princess living in the real world. But true to LKH style starts out story, then goes orgy. I wish it would go back to how it started with Merry being a private eye. Maybe visiting the fairy world, or something? hmm i duno. we shall see. All of LKH's main leading ladies can't seem to shake their men. Needing to keep them all, all the time. Its okay to dump a guy. Not needing to please everyone all the time.

Has anyone read the new one. It's been a while since I read the originals and wasn't sure if I would need a refresher to read the new one.

I just downloaded the audio of it. Have to finish what I'm listening to now then will get to it.

I have seen from other people that there is enough in the book to remember. But you could always scan reviews of the previous book to jog your memory. I'll probably do that.

I just finished reading it and I think you will be ok without re-reading all the other books. I didn't have a problem.

I did think it was a bit boring, the best part was with the babies and how all the fathers acted.

Did I just manage to gt through 1/2 of a L.K. Hamilton book without a sex scene? I'm sure she'll make up for it, but I'm impressed she didn't give herself a heart attach waiting that long.

Hmmm.... didn't resolve who I expected. I do like that not everyone is safe even though I liked that person. Besides that, I'm sure I'll forgot about it in a month or two.

Yeah, what did you think of (view spoiler)[the sex scene where (I don't even remember who) ended up with their whole fist in Merry's mouth. I laughed, because really...WTF, you couldn't wait and that was satisfying????? (hide spoiler)]

I skimmed the scene and then had a "huh?" moment where the skimming didn't make any sense and had to actually pay attention. I'm not really sure why that was necessary.
