Angela B I really liked the first one and I hope to read the second one soon, I think I will actually change my E book in the DELIRITY challenge to it :)

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I have only read the first one and I thought it was very sub par, not on the same level as her Rachel Morgan series. I have the second one sitting here and will get to it within the week, but honestly not really looking forward to it.

Paula (pauldajo) I listened to the 1st and 2nd book. Usually I am able to listen to a book with fewer criticisms than when I read it. Maybe Kim Harrison is new to YA books. There is a special art to writing in that category. The books need to be less complex than many adult books, but not so simple that the story or characters are way undeveloped. I'll listen to a 3rd book, if Harrison writes one. I wonder what the early teens think about the book.

Were they underdeveloped or two complex? I think they are her first attempt at YA.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I read the second one this weekend and thought it was horrible! I am done with this series.

Great. I own them. I guess I shouldn't have bought them. Oh well, once I'm done reading them i can trade them if I want to. I still have to finish Rachel Morgan though.

Angela B I liked the first I can't remember if I own the 2nd but I do have it down as a challenge book I believe I'll have to library it

This is reading SO fast that it's actually annoying me.

In 20 minutes I was 100 pages in. Something is wrong with that.
This book requires a whole lot of visualization.
I'm not sure where I stand just yet, but I'm not done yet. I actually put it down so that I could feel like it was taking longer.

message 13: by Angela (new)

Angela B Are you reading the 1st one Heather? I have the 2nd sitting on my shelf and am hoping it's a fast read because I'm so far behind on my list

I just finished book 1. I have book 2 from the library that I have to get to. I thought book 1 was okay. I just didn't connect to it for some reason.

I agreed with you there. It will be interesting to see how you like #2.

Paula (pauldajo) I like the series. I think there is a lot of potential in the story. Harrison is new to YA and it shows. She does have the correct elements, but there is somthing missing. Hoping for a more in depth story in book #3 which will make me buy the next audio download (if it is cheap enough).

I liked book 2 better than 1. I'll give the series one more shot. It's still in need of work to be good, but it was easier to be interested in this one. Although, the author kind of forgot about the boy(friend) at the end of the book. It was very predictable.

Stephanie (wildcherry) I'm actually listening to the audio version of the first one in this series. The narrator is very good and I'm liking it so far.
