I like it so far. I am almost finished. It has a unique perspective where Jane and Beast are two souls in one body. There is a lot of world building which tends to be typical for this genre. I'm hoping I will like the next book more since the story wouldn't be bogged down by that. Jane herself is pretty funny, strong, and independent. I do feel she is too lonely though. I hope this changes for her. It's not that she really says she is, I just feel so lonely while reading it. Does that make sense?
I get what you are saying Carrie, I think she is lonely too. I really like this series as Jane is very bad ass and proud of it and not in a bad way. I do wonder how long she was beast when she was younger. At times it alluded to it being decades, but it hasn't been spelled out.
Darcy, have you read the second one?I just finished it today. I liked the way things were left off. There were loose ends, but no cliffhangers.
***Spoilers***
I kind of figured it out about Joe (Rick, lol). That was one of the only obvious parts in the book for me. I wonder how Jane and Ricks relationship will progress. Beast obviously wants him, and now that Jane knows his identity, I wonder what, if anything, will happen romantically between them.
I really liked Leo's character as well. Not sure where things stand between them after his last words to Jane, but I hope he cools down and realizes Jane did him a favour.
I have read the second one. If you go to the authors website she has a short story on it. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet, so I don't know how it is.I love how Jane nicknames everyone and now that they all know she does it they want to know what theirs is. In a way it is like a status symbol in their crowd.
This author and CE Murphy of the Walker Papers have written a joint short with their characters that came out last month,
.They both have new books out in January and both have the word "Raven" in the title.
OMG, I am obsessed with this series. Love Beast so much. I love how she talks when we are in her head.
I just started the first book and Beast is so awesome. It's driving me crazy waiting for the back story on her. THough I'm betting the truth may not be revealed tell a later book.
I read Death's Rival last week and thought it was really good. There are some new people that are introduced that I hope things work out for them.
I thought Black Arts was good, but heartbreaking for Jane. She seemed to come to a decision about some of the men in her life.
I just finished Blood Cross. I'm loving that we're seeing more of Jane's past, but I want to know now! Also, I completely love Angelina. Such a cute little girl character.

I would love to see a series with her as an adult.
Just finished reading this series, love it! I am Team Bruiser all the way! Jane has become one of my favourites up there with Mercy and Kate. Now I need to find a new series. :-(
