Oh they are really wonderful! If anyone wants them in ebook form I can email them to you. :) Just drop me an email in my inbox (xenizondich@googlemail.com).At times they can get really down and erotic, but even my straight friend who normally doesn't read these types of books loves them! We're competing as to who finishes them all first, and sad to say, this is the first time anyone's ever come close to beating me!
Anyway, the first book in the series hasn't so much to do with werewolves or vampires, but all the rest of them do. And they are pretty well written (not perfect, but then what is?)
All my ebooks are PDF files unless I couldn't find another format. These happen to all be PDFs. If you need another format, there are countless free file converter programs all across the web that you can use.
Heather wrote: "Can you add the pictures of the other 5 books?"Certainly ^^ (every time I tried something always came up, thanks for reminding me <333)
Thank you! I was looking at the titles and started wondering why I wasn't finding some of them. =)
Okay, I'm going to post my viewpoints so far:This is just general, not on a book-by-book basis (for that there are always my reviews):
First off, the soulmate principle in books tends to make me feel happy and like there could actually be something like that (see Night World No. 1: Secret Vampire; Daughters of Darkness; Spellbinder the Night World Series) but in this series it was really starting to drag on me. I was so relieved by the time a book came along where they WEREN'T mates. This made the book seem a lot more real and it definitely resonated better with me. Perhaps I'm over the whole soulmate thing now?
Secondly, my most favorite book so far is the one featuring Wren (the were-tiger-leopard). He is younger than most were's and his name rocks, he falls in love with a collage girl, and on top of that he can shapeshift into two animals, one of which is my all time favorite white tiger and the other one which is my all time second favorite cat, the snow leopard. Also, the story line revolving around him isn't "big bad 'evil' boss is coming to earth to take it over" which is REALLY getting old.
Third most, I think I prefer the books with the were's rather than with the Dark-Hunters. Although I really don't understand what the difference is between the normal weres (Arcadians and Katagaria make sense) and the Were-Hunters. I've only read one short story with a Dream-Hunter and am currently reading a longer on (incidentally called Dream-Hunter) so I suppose I'm getting a small picture on what that is about, although that one is confusing as well.
I don't think that Were-, Dark- and Dream-Hunters are like a band, who all help each other. They are all their separate entities that just happen to not be human and fight "bad guys" (which, if you ask me, is a pretty lose statement).
I think that's about it for now.
I wanted to post two useful links into this topic as well:http://www.sherrilynkenyon.com/series...

Because I've seen books listed under both the dark hunter and dream hunter series, but I think that some..."I was just looking through Kenyon's website and she has them very much separated. But in my ebooks they are jumbled together as well, not to mention that a lot of the characters from one series are shared with the other. So I think you can draw the line, but it's a very wavy and hazy line! Personally, I chalk it down to personal choice. For me it's all one big series (were-, dark- and dream-hunters)
I like the original Dark Hunter series, but didn't care for the spin off Dream Hunter series quite as much. There are some carry over characters from the original Dark Hunter that show up in Dream Hunters. Here are my favs:
2 Night Pleasures Hardback (Kyrian & Amanda)
3 Night Embrace (Talon & Sunshine)
5 Kiss of the Night (Wulf & Cassandra)
6 Night Play (Vane & Bride)
7 Seize the Night (Valerius & Tabitha)
9 Unleash the Night (Wren & Maggie)
16 Acheron (Ash & Tory)
Ok, I was trying to find the first few ebooks, and I have to say I got really confused. I usually look at different sites (I`m cheap and like to hunt around, lol) and they had different titles for the first few books. Maybe I was looking at the two different series and didn`t notice.
Do these all relate to Greek mythology? Or just the first book? I'm a bit of an ancient history nerd so I'm loving the connection.
Yeah, I had the same problem. I had no idea which one actually came first.Maybe somebody that has read the series can tell us?
Okay, I haven't read Night Pleasures yet, but I know what's going on. Fantasy Lover is kind of book 0, technically, but often listed as 1. It doesn't have the dark hunters in it. It gives a background of the guy that will be the lead in Night Pleasures and there's a brief moment where the guy in Fantasy Lover thinks he sees him, but that's it. I haven't gotten Night Pleasures yet, but probably will on Tuesday. I'm sure you'll be fine if you do end up reading it first, but I'm not 100% positive.
The guy in Fantasy Lover is a demi-god. After that I think the leading men are immortals. So, Fantasy Lover leads into the series even though it's not quite the same world. Or so I've gathered...

I liked book 1, but I loved all the references to Greece. I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to that. Sorry, Sparta... it made a difference back then. =)
I got the next few in the series today. I'm trying to get through a few others first, but I keep wanting to pick them up. They're tempting me even though they're in the other room.

Of all the books in this series that I have read so far, I'm with you on that my favourite story/character is Wren. I loved him and couldn't put the book down.
I just started Night Pleasures today. I don't know if it'll be good or not, but I can guarantee I'll e laughing.
I bought Night Pleasures today because it was $3 for the nook, The #0 book Fantasy Lover was a $8 so I didn't get that now and since it doesn't have the characters in it I'm hoping that works out ok! If someone thinks I should read Fantasy Lover let me know cuz it'll be a bit until I get to Night Pleasures anyway
FL has a character in it that is recurring. You'll do okay if you don't start with it, but after a few books you'll probably want to go back and check it out. Just watch the price on it and get it if it drops. Now, the first book does explain why the Greek gods you meet in NP were just hanging around at someones house. However, it's not going to confuse you too much since Kenyon does a quick synopsis.
If your library has it just rent it. I can't read things out of order so it pains me to tell you its okay. =)
Xeni - Can you add the dream-hunter, fear the darkness, and upon the midnight clear to the pics?
I snuck to this page to figure out what order they went in and realized they skipped.

Sounds like it. I', looking forward to it since I like his character.
I'm loving these books. They're in the 3 1/2 to 4 star range for me so far. I think the characters are fun and I love the gods being involved. Their fault happens to be that they're a little predictable, but then most romance stories are. I wonder if one will end where things have just gone terribly wrong to mix it up a bit.

hmm... I've noticed odd things on my kindle like that too. I'm not reading these that way though.
So I have to laugh now because in the book (yes I know, I haven't finished it yet...probably will tonight) it's also reversing the word "with" and "wife." So it's swapping both words with each other, both ways.Back to the subject of Kenyon, I also have the first book in her sci-fi romance series as a challenge read.
***Spoiler***
Oh my! Nick!?! Little Nick? I mean, I know he'll come back because he has his own series now, but that's still mot cool!
I've only read the first DH book. Was trying to wait at least a couple of weeks before putting the next one on hold at the library, since I have a lot of challenge reads and new books to get caught up on.Infinity (Chronicles of Nick) has been on hold at my library since the thing came out and I'm still like number 90 on the list, haha. I put it on hold because I thought it was going to end up as one of my group reads, and it never did.
I'm not sure if you should read Infinity after the series, or if it doesn't matter.
I'm not going to tell you what happens though. Let me know when you get to it though.

haha. You're not suppose to read spoilers unless you've read the book missy!
BLah. I don't feel good today. I only read about 100 pages. I had to force myself to sleep. I'm detoxing from caffeine and I feel like I'm being stabbed in the forehead.

I'm slowly getting past it.
Alpha has shipped for me, but I can't read Prey until October because of a challenge.
I'm 2 books away from my 300th of the year.

I really enjoyed these books because they caused me to laugh and cry. However, they are rather formulaic and some of the last few books haven't caused much of a reaction from me. Upon The Midnight Clear made me cry again. Just a tear, but that means there's hope. I'm hoping that they'll get better as it all leads up to Acheron. I also think I like the Dark-Hunters better than the others. Although, the Louisiana set does seem to be my favorite so far. I like it when you have a clue who the character is before they get their own book. That's what was good about the first few books. You got other people's opinions of someone before you got to meet them. It provides a cohesiveness to the series. I hope she returns to that.
Grrr! I have to wait to read Acheron for a different group for a November challenge. I don't think I'll make it. I want to know!
Now I know why Kenyon's able to write pain so well. She admits at the beginning of this book that she had to deal with abuse as a child.
I'm reading Acheron right now and I just finished the first part from Ryssa's perspective. It's painful enough to read. To imagine that some people live through similar situations, or even close to this... Why is it that cruelty is naturally inherent to human nature, but morals must be taught? Most people are naturally selfish and mean. Kids have to be taught to share, not to keep things for themselves; and we hurt people without thought, but it takes conscious decisions to be kind, keep promises, not say the rude thing that pops into your head... We use the word human as if it makes us better than other animals, but I think it makes us worst. We have the ability to reason beyond fight or flight, kill or be killed and yet there are still plenty of us that harm those we're suppose to protect, who turn away from those in need, who kill, murder, rape, cheat, steal, or simply put down. If we have the ability to be better than that and yet some never capitalize on that, ... Free will's a bitch.

Great post!
I always think that's why we're always more impressed, and taken, with honest and good people. It takes so much more effort to establish morals and the power to do what's right. Evil and vain things come easily.
I just finished
. It was worth the wait. While some of the information I've learned over the course of other books, this one was still nothing like what I had expected. I'm not sure why, but it was just hard to imagine a book about Acheron. I really enjoyed it. I cried more than I laughed in this one, but that's okay.

Why do authors do this? One Silent Night starts before Acheron's epilogue. Therefore, I know who'll live and die based on who was on the last few pages of the previous book. However, I guess there's still a chance she'd kill someone off, but that would be even more screwed up than what she's already doing. All she had to do was set the book back later and this wouldn't be an issue.
Okay, I am about 100 pages or so from finishing Kenyon's first book in the League series.I'm really liking it! I like that it's sci-fi, otherwordly, and that the assassins are really doing their job (meaning it's not just for show so they can wear all black and carry weapons...the scenes get a bit intense near the end).
I haven't read far enough into Dark Hunters to draw comparisons between the two, but the hero in this book could be transplanted from a BDB novel. He's huge, carries tons of weapons, bears many scars, wears all black, and won't let any female come near him. He's kind of great...
I have an issue here. This is now a series that I feel like I should buy. However, if I buy the new ones, I'm going to have to buy the old ones and that's a freaking lot! Hmm...
Dark Hunter? Yeah...that's a lot of books. How were you reading them, library? I know you blazed through them pretty quickly. I'm still waiting for book 2 (or book 3 if I go with the actual order) from my library (nothing new here though).I finished Born of Night. Can't wait to read the next one.
I've been using the library. I don't know if they have Born of Night. I think I may have requested them to search other libraries for me. They don't keep records on your account so I never know what I asked for until it shows up.
Xeni, if you're still around can you please update the book list? The cover has been released for the next book.
If she doesn't come back in a few weeks, you could always archive this thread and start a new one if needed.
I commented as soon as I saw that the thread was open. I can delete her comment if necessary and just pretend like mine was the first one and edit it. She hasn't been around in a while, so I don't know if she'll come back. That's why I'm a pain about opening the threads though. Although, I'm hoping she's around, because I don't want to add that many books up. =)
