I would not consider Encyclopedia Brown to be YA. I recommend it to very young readers.

Mockingjay's already been nominated... you might want to change your nomination. :)

Me neither. Patience and I stopped talking in my youth. It was a tragic story of betrayal and longing. ..or something.

message 23: by Amy (new)

Amy The talking thing I never quite overcame, which is probably why I became a teacher. I can talk all day!

Mind you, I won't be surprised if Mockngjay doesn't win.

I think I'd be a tad upset if Mockingjay did win. Not because I don't like who nominated it, or the book or anything, but simply because it's the end of a series of books that not everyone might have read (although, really, YOU SHOULD READ IT!)

message 29: by Kristen (new)

Kristen Harvey | 1046 comments Yay! Thanks Fiona.. and also.. most ppl have read it this week...

I have yet to get mine. :( I'm so mad with the Borders' pre-ordering system.

message 36: by Donna (new)

Donna (dfiggz) | 1332 comments Everyone seems to be having the same issues. I hear Amazon is doing the same thing

message 37: by Barb (new)

Barb (barblibrarian1) Got mine from Amazon right away. Finished it last week. I agree we should not read a book that is so far into a series. I planned on reading Mockingjay regardless and would prefer reading something in a book club I might not have read otherwise. For a club book it makes more sense to pick the first book in a series or a book that stands alone.
