I just finished listening to Snowcrash by Neal Stephenson, a book I read years ago. The audio book was outstanding as well. Stephenson as well as William Gibson give excellent views into the future of singularity, insight into the future of science and society, especially predicted by Ray Kurzweil and other leading futurists. Another book I just finished is Breakpoint by Richard A. Clarke which continues these views and predictions. Although not as entertaining as Stephenson or Gibson’s novels, Breakpoint was a quick and good read, also describing a not to distant future. Listening to Snowcrash and reading Breakpoint at the same time was surprisingly easy due to the singularity theme. I would recommend Breakpoint if you liked Snowcrash based on themes although they really are different novels (no samurai swords in Breakpoint although there are exoskeleton suits that are too cool!)
