Q&A with Mike Cox discussion

Hi Mike,

I'm curious - on non-fiction work such as this - how much research time did you put into the project?

Man, depends on how you count. I've been collecting information on the Rangers for some four decades. I've written three previous books on the Rangers, and started my current book in 1999. Was still working on last minute additions as recently as last fall. And as I write this, I'm still researching and adding material for Volume 2, which will be published in 2009 -- 10 years after I started the project!

I guess it was all worthwhile. All the reviews so far have been quite favorable, with people saying the book reads like a good novel. And sales have been going very well.
