What are you reading in September?

I just started Acacia: The War with the Mein by David Anthony Durham and I've been reading Walking the Appalachian Trail by Larry Luxenberg for a couple weeks.
Right now I'm reading The Insider
by Reece Hirsch. But I will be reading Blood Oath
by Christopher Farnsworth and later Babylonne
by Catherine Jinks.
I'm starting Fugitive Prince tonight, and am midway through Amberjack: Tales of Fear and Wonder, (its great, by the way).I'm hoping much of September will be novellas. Between being back to work, and going through a lot of medical appointments, I think that a bite sized approach to my reading will be just the ticket. I ordered a few from PS Publishing, they had a summer sale, and they should be here any day!
Reunion
Starfall
The Language of Dying
The Mermaids
Cast a Cold Eye
Blue Canoe
Old Man Scratch
Vault of Deeds
Thats a good win for you Jeanne !
I won an ARC of Way of Kings too :) I want to pick it up and read it...but Snake Agent by Liz Williams is grabbing my attention at the moment. I should be finished soon, that way I can work on Way of Kings for September.
I am just starting Perdido Street Station and am enjoying it alot. A few of the other books I hope to get to are:Acacia: The War with the Mein
Boneshaker
The Way of Kings
and The Gone-Away World
will also try to read a few more of the Edgar Rice Burroughs Barsoom Series that I have been reading through lately.
I'm looking forward to a long weekend reading (provided I don't get distracted by Netflix streaming episodes of Pillars of the Earth). I hope to finish Song of the Beast by Saturday so I can start reading The Way of Kings, which I received yesterday, signed and numbered by Brandon.Otherwise, I've got some GoodReads group book-of-the-month selections to read and a couple of non-fiction selections for my church. You can visit my current-month shelf for my dynamic list of September reads.
I'm reading the last Farseer book, Assassin's Quest, and then Addition for book club. And then The Way of Kings, just like pretty much everyone else on here. :-)Oh, and I might get around to finishing The Art of War this month. Maybe.
Almost finished with Hood by Stephen R. Lawhead. Reading A Dark Traveling by Roger Zelazny while waiting for Stephen R. Lawhead's Scarlet to arrive from interloan at my local library.
Jackie wrote: "Almost finished with Hood by Stephen R. Lawhead. Reading A Dark Traveling by Roger Zelazny while waiting for [author:Stephen R. What was it like?
I'm almost halfway through "Bearer's of the Black Staff" by Terry Brooks. After that I'm onto "The Black Prism" by Brent Weeks
Hmm...not sure. I'm almost finished with A Clockwork Orange I plan on getting Roman Blood soon so maybe that. If not perhaps Watership Down :)
A couple of days ago I finished Mistborn: The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson. I enjoyed the book quite a lot.Immediately started book #2 The Well of Ascension
I'm currently reading: Heroes Die
Shadow
The Neutronium Alchemist
Wolfbreed
I'm almost done with Heroes Die and Wolfbreed, at which point I'll start:
The Windup Girl
The Mark of Ran
Mistborn: The Final Empire
And I hope to get to Cold Magic this month, as well.

I think I'm jealous. I'm lucky if I get 2 hours a day for reading fiction. I cannot imagine being able to read so many books at once. Maybe after retirement... ;-)
Well, I'm finally finished with all three trilogies from Robin Hobb and have decided to wait a bit with the Rain Wilds Chronicles. So I've started on The Painted Man and will follow with The Desert Spear this month. Exciting story so far.

I just finished The Way of Kings, and wow its good!
I just finished two YA fantasies by Lloyd Alexander - The Iron Ring and The Golden Dream of Carlo Chuchio - of The Prydain Chronicles fame.Fictionwise, I'm looking forward to rereading Ursula Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness for one of my groups and The Tempest for another.
After that, I continue my trip down memory lane with Eileen Kernaghan: Journey to Aprilioth, Songs from the Drowned Lands, and The Sarsen Witch.
I've just finished reading "The Glasswrights' Apprentice" by Mindy L. Klasky and the anthology "Cthulhu's Reign" edited by Darrell Schweitzer. My reviews are posted here at Goodreads. Both are good books. Enough that I'll read the sequel in the Glasswrights' series. And like most anthologies there were stories I really enjoyed, mixed with some that I didn't quite get. Overall the balance was on the positive side though.

I was reading Gene Wolfe's [Book: Shadow of the Torturer], but I just can't seem to get into it. I've found that books written as histories or remembrances rarely grab my attention. [Book: Dune] is another example. Think I might start the sequel to [Book: The Way of Shadows].
Finished Deceiver, which delivered splendidly. Started Anathem, which I've wanted to plunge into for a very long time.

I am starting Magician: Apprentice -- it's a little hard to return to the tried and true fantasy genre after the very refreshing The Name of the Wind.
Finished Star Wars: Tales from the Mos Eisley Cantina. It was pretty decent. Now starting onThe Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. The sheer size of it is really intimidating, but I'm sure it will be great. It's really heavy and I could probably kill someone with it lol. I do wonder how this massive tome will become a paperback though. They might have to split it up into two parts!
Oh, and I'm reading Summer Knight by Jim Butcher along with it for lighter reading.

Everyone seems to adore it, so I don't want to give up on it entirely.
I think Shadow of the Torturer is definitely worth a read. It does start out a bit slow, but has one of the most unique fight/duel scenes out of any book I've ever read. If you want a quick read to get into Wolfe a bit before you tackle it again, check out "There are Doors." A great urban fantasy tale that preceded/inspired books like Gaiman's "Neverwhere."
Currently reading
and it's proving to be much better than
. For one thing, Merit's becoming easier to stand, and for another, Ethan's ditched the stick up his ass, at least for a little while, and I'm definitely liking his attitude better now. This series isn't one of my favorites yet, but if this keeps up, it could definitely make it to the list by Hard Bitten.
Recently finished Death Masks, by Jim Butcher. Harry Dresden the long-suffering Chicago wizard goes in quest of his girlfriend (who's been abducted by vampires) and the Shroud of Turin.Death Masks
I finished The Well of Ascension by Brandon Sanderson.I liked it quite a lot. A bit too much of politics for me, otherwise very good.
Before I read the last book in Mistborn trilogy, I need some break, so I started We by Yevgeny Zamyatin as a prequel to George Orwell's 1984. The beginning is very promising, apt to my cynical mood nowdays.

I was lucky enough to win an advance copy of The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson It will take me the better half of the month to read it, but it is so nice to read the start of a new epic fantasy series.
