Love it, great picks these last two weeks. Still waiting patiently for Sherlock Holmes. I'll buy them if they're not offered free by the end of the promotion.

That is a site that has thousands upon thousands of free titles. Legally free. They're all classics that are out of copyright and can be shared by anyone. Just do a title search for Sherlocke Holmes and you'll get a ton of stuff. The downloads are offered in multiple formats.

There's also a wide selection of books in languages other than English.

Yep, but I want the B&N Classics editions. And I believe they'll put them up for free before this promotion ends, so I'll wait and see. Thanks for the heads up though!

If you go to BN book club-community discussion groups in the Nook area, admin is asking for suggestions for next week's free promotion. Many folks were asking for Sherlock Holmes. Just FYI. :-)

This weeks collection will be the last one! And they supposedly will only be available to download through Tuesday. So get 'em while you can!

I'm surprised by the lack of freebies on B&N compared to Amazon. B&N is going to have to step up their game to stay competitive with digital book readers.

I don't know what Amazon has, but I have 101 free books from B&N and have only had it for 1 month. The classic thing may be a promotion but they are continuing free Fridays aren't they? Anyhow nook supports the most used file types, so free books is something I'm not too worried about.

Yes, I happily took advantage of the free classics.

In addition to amazon's searchable section of free books, Michael Gallagher posts free books almost daily. These are often pre-releases of sifferent generes that are $10 or more after they are released. You can find his author page on amazon here to see what I mean.

I have gotten free books from B&N, Kobo and Sony. That is the number one reason I am happy to have chosen a nook. I can utilize many different sources.
