I love the early Scarpetta books. I lost track of where I am in the series but this is definitely a good read.

I love these also. The main character is an intelligent, believable woman. Very interesting characters. Funny, I've lost track of where I am too. The last one I picked up a character who was dead wasn't dead anymore. LOL I must have missed a book. But I was able to read and enjoy the new book anyway.
I love these books too, I don't think I'm reading them in sequence, I pick them up from the library, so I get what evers in at the time. I read Book of the Dead last and really enjoyed it and because I had read some of the other books I knew who the characters where.
I would love to read them in order but first I need to get through three books I have sat at home and I want to read Stephen Kings back catalogue so got a lot to get through.
I think this one was the first. I remember reading and actually getting that panicky adrenaline rush during the climax. They definitely went down hill but I still keep reading them, can't seem to help myself. I pretty much read them in order except for one or two. I read Trace not that long ago and I have Predator but I haven't read it yet. Not sure which one comes after that.
