My Overall Impression of “The Outsiders” was that the outsiders is a very intense book filled with tense emotions and drama. I liked the part of the plot when Johnny killed bob, because it was very intense and I couldn’t stop reading when that happened. I also felt this was a key part of the plot, because so many things wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for this. I felt this was the point when everything started happening for the boys. “The Outsiders” sends a message to have loyalty to the people you know most, and are friends with and staying young and doing good, and most importantly to “stay gold.” I thought the style of the book really helped you to understand what the characters were feeling, and what they were going through. I enjoyed the characters in this book because they were very well thought out and well portrayed. I could really see in my mind what they looked like and how they acted. The ending was very intense to me. I could feel the excitement when the greasers won the big rumble. I wasn’t expecting Johnny to die, that surprised me, because he was a big character in the story and usually that doesn’t happen to important characters. Then when dally died too, I was shocked. But in a way I was expecting something bad to happen to him because he wasn’t a nice character, and something was bound to happen to him sometime. I would recommend this book to anyone, it is easy to relate to the characters no matter who you are, and it is a very good book. Though this book leaves me wondering why would the author kill two of the main characters? Why not just one, why not kill them all? Also why did Ponyboy go into the burning building to save the children in the first place? The Outsiders
