Difficult to get anything without a tang of the xtian as most older texts were copied by monks...and as tied to their community as they may have been they obviously have a very specific world view to colour their writing.

exactly, allbeit some have more of a "taint" than others so im hoping the likes of books like Pagan britain can give a more scientific perspective & differing views, here's hoping anyway. Will post a review either way on this forum & try & be a bit more active this year.
I've been looking for a book list like this. Thank you so much, I'm going to dive head first into this.

Kitty: I have an even longer list I was given when I came across the fork in the road, and opted for the (ahem) celtic track, as opposed to the brythonic, though I have a longer list for the latter, too. This is the short list, from the short lists. :D
Just a note to say: today, I've added links to web pages with the content for the last two entries, and "Deirdre [Longes mac nUislenn]" on the list in the original post.
Andy wrote: "Have got Pagan Britain on my trl whic..."Didn't realise he had published yet another book on the subject. Suppose I'll have to read it now.
http://www.rte.ie/player/ie/show/1035...Entertaining look at the Ulster Cycle and the Wee Hound by an Irish comedian (Neil Delamare).
It's part 1 of 4. The others covering Finn, Red Hugh...and my favourite pirate queen, local girl made good Gráinne Mhaol (or Baldy Grace).
