Ronyell (rabbitearsblog) | 174 comments Hey!! I have just recently got into Teresa Medeiros' works and I have enjoyed Nobody's Darling and A Kiss to Remember. Was there any other historical romance novels that you have read?

message 2: by Kristi (new)

Kristi (kristicasey) I've read a few historical romances. Tho to be honest I can't think of any at the moment. (blushing)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) Thanks, Ronyell, for starting this thread. I can't believe that we didn't already have a historical romance thread.

message 4: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Vegan (lisavegan) It seems to be a popular sub-genre on Goodreads. I added a historical-romance shelf to our bookshelves rather than shelf as historical-fiction and romance.

Lee, If you want to delete the shelf, and shelve these under historical-fiction and romance, feel free. But since we have a historical-mysteries shelf in addition to our historical-fiction shelf, I thought I'd add it for now.

I have no problem with a historical romance bookshelf. It seems to be a very popular genre. I enjoy the occasional Regency Romance myself and I know I've discussed Georgette Heyer's work in another thread.

Ronyell (rabbitearsblog) | 174 comments What were Georgette Heyer's works like?

Georgette Heyer was one of the first historical romance writers. Here is an article from Wikipedia about her:

ஐ Katya (Book Queen)ஐ (katyabookqueen) My favorite historical romances are by Julie Garwood. I love The Secret and The Prize. I think I've read them both five times. I did learn later that The Secret is part of a series, followed by Ransom and Shadow Music. Ransom was good, but I didn't care for Shadow Music as much.

Another that I love is A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux. Although for that one, look for the original verson, not the special edition. In the special edition she added about 50 pages of stuff to make one of the characters an alcoholic and screwed up, imo, the storyline. Otherwise, it's a wonderful time travel historical romance that I've read more than once.

S.E. Roberts (seroberts) | 2 comments I recently read Acheron. It's kind of an Adult-oriented book because of all the sexual encounters and language. Still, it was an amazing book. It involved a lot of Greek Mythology, and the mystery of Atlantis (So, it is Historical). Over all, it was a romance, but that didn't really kick in until around page 160.

She writes really great historicals. Maybe it's no surprise, but my british fiance reminds me alot of the hero from The Secret. However, I don't dare tell him that! lol

Darkpool | 222 comments Yep, I've read Mine Till Midnight - thought it was a bit cheesy, but quite open to the possibility of reading more of hers.
