If you are a music freak, like me. It would be great if you posted music that you love, or don't like. Let us know which it is when you do.

Hi! I hope I'm doing this right . . .

The Final Cut by Pink Floyd
Rating 4 out of 5
Review:
Overall a great album, the lyrics were especially moving (i.e. The silver in her hair shines in the cold November air). The music is great, especially the saxophone in the Gunner's Dream.
But (there's always a but) this is a tribute to Roger Waters narcissism. Basically, it's about him. He's the lead vocals in most(all?) of the songs, Wright is kicked out and Gilmour and Mason are pushed to the side.
More like a Roger Waters solo effort than an actual Pink Floyd album.

I haven't really listened muchto Pink Floyd since I've only been living for 13 years but some songs I like are Money, Another Brick in the Wall(I hope that's the name), and Wish You Were Here. But I'm making it a goal to check out more of their music. :)
Few bands I love are Smashing Pumpkins, Silversun Pickups, Nirvana, Nightwish, and Underoath but that's just a few though. :D

message 4: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 663 comments Ya same but my dad listens to a lot of stuff like pink floyd or black sabbath.
my fav bands are probably blessthefall (the old album with craig mabbit) escape the fate, machine head, unearth, asking alexandria... well i could go on forever but i think i'll stop there.
i pretty much like anything that's screamo :)
but if like say country music has good lyrics then I'll listen to it.

Oh that's cool. Yeah I'll listen to screamo sometimes too if the screaming has a good voice, lol. I like All the Dead Pilots but their not really that famous. I heard of them through my sister, her boyfriend's the keyboardist and sythesyzer something like that...But their really good, you should check them out. Oh yeah, Asking Alexandria is cool too. :)

Rebecca (alwaysrebecca) | 635 comments Hmmm... Let's see... Nirvana, linkin park, three days grace, nightwish, evanasance (I think I spelled it right), erben der schopfung, within temptation, enya, loreena mckennit, and Destini beard dining with midnight syndicate!

Pink floyd is pretty cool too, there are a couple of their CDs in my dads truck, so kinda know their songs, just not by name.

Cool, you should check out Manolis and Blaze. Manolis is a little draggy in the beginning but then it starts pickin up and that's how it becomes a really amazing song. Blaze is just like this pretty original song with the singing being the greatest part. :) I also love Tool.

Does anyone have a favorite soundtrack?
I fell in love the the Alice in Wonderland Soundtrack a few days ago.

Review
The Wall by Pink Floyd
5 out of 5
One of the great musical works in the world, thought it was a mostly Roger Waters dominated album.
It tells the heart rending tale of a burnt out rock star and the events that shaped him. It includes some favorites that many people unfamiliar with Pink Floyd can recognize (i.e. Another Brick In The Wall (Pt. 2) and Comfortably Numb).
The lyrics are moving, Roger Waters singing is at its best and Dave Gilmour on guitar is AMAZING.
On the downside, Wright was ejected from the band during this time and Mason was pushed into the background.
Highly highly highly reccomend.
