I just added my latest book: Selection (NEBADOR, #3), 9781936253166, but can't find the "Is this you?" link anywhere. If someone could connect it to me, I'd appreciate. Also, the series field can be filled in, which I cannot do, but PLEASE leave the series in the title, as GoodReads is not yet programmed to display the series field very many places, as I'm sure you are aware. Thank you! J.Z. Colby

I've added it to the series.BTW, is the series the way you want it? I think it could use cleaning up a bit, perhaps to have the "notes" books in a separate entry? That would help with the numbering. Let me know.

That's because you've been an official GR Author for a month already. The link goes away once the author profile is claimed!

Thanks. I'm not sure what cleaning-up is possible, as I can't see the series edit page, but the important thing is that the Deep Learning Notes books are NOT just editions of the story books. Right now they show up separately, as they should. What do you recommend?
Also I was wondering: the word "NEBADOR" is always in caps in the published titles, and my read of the librarian manual made me think they should be the same in GoodReads. They were for a while, but now are reverting to proper case. Is this something that can be fixed, or is it too hard to maintain given all the people and automated processes involved?
Thanks for your help! J.Z. Colby
This is how the series page currently looks: http://www.goodreads.com/series/49811...You can access it by going to any one of the book pages and clicking on the series name.
All the books are listed together, which makes the numbering a little difficult. I could separate them into two, or put an explanation in the description.
Really? I've always changed caps to regular case. Some fonts really are just all caps (and often author's names are in caps), but it's stylized such (and for reading purposed typed in with grammatical capitalization). If the title is on the cover backwards or vertical, that doesn't mean I would input them that way. Covers often aren't even consistent across editions.Ex: This
, I would neither input as "The Foundation PIT", nor
as "ROBOT dreams".Likewise,
is not input as "THE MIST", nor
as "fledgling".I do not begrudge the stylization of covers but using such for the goodreads systems would be a terrible and impractical eyesore.
I do not begrudge the stylization of covers but using such for the goodreads systems would be a terrible and impractical eyesore. Definitely. I often change caps to regular case when I see them, just like I change the occasional improperly lowercase to properly capitalized.
I must admit that I do this too. It just looks so much better when reading type on a screen. I can admit that at the bookstore other ways of typesetting are appropriate, just not here, regardless of the manual.
Most of the time, capitalization is best taken from the interior title page, if that information is available. It's the main exception to the "make it like the cover" rule. (It's usually but not always safe to assume that typical capitalization applies to titles and series names; I do try to put in a librarian note when capitalization is notably odd.)
And don't forget that different things happen in different languages:
The Shape of Water Each main word capped
La forma dell'acqua Only the first word capped in Italian

Yes, I can see that page, but I can't edit it because I'm not a librarian. The list is correct, although the order is not ideal, obviously. If you can make any improvements without harm, please feel free, but please remember that it isn't time to remove the series name from the titles because most pages in GR still get the series name from there. Thanks!
On the caps issue, the series name is in caps on the titles pages, but I can see that maintaining it that way might be impossible on GR.
J.Z., as the author of these books, you can definitely have the last word on their titles! I'll change the series name to reflect this. What order would you prefer for the books -- should the Deep Learning Notes be after all of the numbered books?
Thanks! Yes, the ideal situation would be all the named novels in numerical order, then the Deep Learning Notes in numerical order (much less interest). I've heard that some GR pages re-order the books by activity, but whatever you can do is appreciated. J.Z. Colby
Not sure if this is the right thread for this but it seems to be the best fit. The book A Storm of Pleasure which is the second book in a series by Terri Brisbin is not listed as a separate book but as an alternate edition of A Storm of Passion which is the first book. If you ass Passion to your shelves then select Pleasure for the preferred edition all the information is correct. Likewise the information for Passion is correct. Hope my explanation made sense.
Robin, I've separated them (and created the series for them); thanks for catching that!(It's generally a good idea to make a new thread for a new book fixing request, if this comes up again. Not all librarians check the older threads for new work.)
Hi there! I think I'm in the right spot... I was hoping to get my series put up on my author page. It's 'The Chosen One Trilogy'. The books are 'Crossover', 'Journey', and 'Destiny'. All three are already on my books section. Thanks a bunch!
Hello wonderful librarians,I've added by ePub editions, but must beg again for you to do the Series fields. Still clueless as to why an author can do all other fields, but not that one.

Thanks you!

Hi Willaful,Do you mean that's something I can do myself in the future? If so, can you point me to the right place?
Thanks!
Jonathan Colby
As far as I know, you can. Go to the book page of one of your books and look for the word "combine" on the far right. Click on it, and that will take you to your combine page. All of your books will be there. You can combine any new editions with the old ones and they will automatically get the series information. If you don't see "combine," then I guess this is not something authors can do.
Somehow Jaws has become part of a non-English language series. (Is Jaws even part of a series?) Librarian services desired.http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/94...
