Witches, zombies, etc? Not really sure, just wanting to know what you mean by ghost story... A spooky book or an actual ghost in the story book.

So glad you're asking this... I mostly read fantasy/paranormal/urban fantasy/vampire/lycanthrope stuff, so I'm wondering if that fits under "ghost story" or what, too. If so, this is going to be any easy challenge for me! :D
Following books being questioned: Tantalize (paranormal,) Peeps (vampires,) A Great and Terrible Beauty (pretty sure this is a ghost story,) The Amulet of Samarkand (magic,) The Book of Lost Things (sounds like magic would be involved.)

I'm doing a challenge in another group with spooky Halloween type creatures (vamps/werewolves/zombies/things that go bump in the night) so it'd be nice to get credit in both places.
Kellee and I talked about this one and I think we decided not to included everything Halloween-y, but limit it to magic and ghosts. A story that includes ghosts can count.
Okey dokey, just wanted to be sure :) I don't have many ghost stories, but I do have plenty o' magic ones!
Amy wrote: "What about a vampire story that includes magic? Would that work?"As long as there is magic in it, yes :)
Amy wrote: "Betrayed by P.C. Cast"Amy- when did you read it?
This is 2 more points for you, Amy
Your total is now 4 :)
Kellee...I went back and did an edit on my post for the date I read the book.Killer unicorns??? Crazy!
Kristen wrote: "It is Rampant and it is awesome. So pleeeeeaaassseee Kellee?"Must discuss it with Jennifer. It doesn't exactly fit the task... But unicorns themselves are kind of magical... Will let you know.
Kristen wrote: "Hmmmm no real magic yet... it's okay if it doesn't fit. I'll find some other books."Sorry :(
Was it great though?

Kristen wrote: "It was! :-D"Will have to find a time to read it soon. Killer unicorns sound awesome :P
I would suggest Milrose Munce and the Den of Professional Help. It is kind of out there. The main character Milrose can talk to ghosts but the school doesn't like that so they send him to the den of Professional Help. Very sarcastic and witty but very charming. I have already read it, but if someone is looking for a read, it could be an option
I finished Glimmerglass by Jenna Black on audiobook today. This is one of only a few audiobooks I enjoyed, so hurray!
AngelaSunshine wrote: "I finished Glimmerglass by Jenna Black on audiobook today. This is one of only a few audiobooks I enjoyed, so hurray!"I'm so glad you found an audiobook you liked :) There are good ones out there- I promise.
I read Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat, which has magical rat potions as a part of the plot. Also, I read Dodger and Me (Dodger and Me, #1) which has a genie in it who helps him with magic.
The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud and A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba BrayPoints Earned this month: 3
Total Points: 13
EDIT: Actually, I just went through all the threads and made a counting of the books that I've listed and a spreadsheet and other groovy things, and, apparently, I should have 16 points - not 13.
Amy wrote: "Oh I really enjoyed that book!"Me too - I loved it! I ended up listening to it on audio based upon Kellee's recommendation.

Did you like it on audio?!?!? Isn't Gaiman fantastic! I think that it is one of the books that may be better to listen to than read...

Gaiman's *always* fantastic to listen to - even when his stories don't make sense to me. ...not that I'm a fangirl or anything.
I read Evermore by Alyson Noel. The main character, Ever, has been able to see people's auras, hear their thoughts and can see ghosts ever since she had a near death experience. The main guy in this book has magical powers and he can makes things appear out of thin air.Points Earned: 2
