Philip K. Dick discussion

Did anyone here read Disch's stuff? He actually sounds like a very interesting writer, too bad I did not hear about him earlier :-(

I didn't read any of his books but enjoyed The Brave Little Toaster as a child, a lot. I will have to check the book out.

I read everything the guy wrote, including poetry. How sad that he has passed...

334 is my favorite novel by Disch, and Camp Concentration next, perhaps, or the Genocides. I also loved his short stories, which were very personal and reflective.

"How sad that he has passed" seemed a little weak when summing up a writer tha has had a very strong influence on me, so I wrote a little appreciation here.

I confess that I had barely heard of Tom Disch. Your writing movingly and respectfully about him has made me curious. I intend to read his books you commend as classics.
