2010 5 Star Reads
What a great question! I am wondering if you limit it to just books that came out in 2010, or those read in 2010? I'm assuming the latter, and here is my list, in no particular order (part one of two):

Part two:
and all that series
and all that series
and the first eight books of that series
and all that series
and all that series
and all that series
and all that series
and all that series,
and all that series
and all that series
and the rest of that trilogy
and the rest of that series
and the rest of that series
and all that series
5 stars for me are books that changed my life, taught me something or touched something within me that I've always remember so as you can imagine, I give very few. This year I've given only one to
WOW Mollie!! You got it, books you've read this year..they didn't have to come out this year! I'm hoping now that I'll find some books to add to my TBR mountain!!
D.G. - I'm pretty stingy with my 5 stars too. A book has to really really impact my emotions for it to get a 5 star rating. Generally, if I laugh and cry and shake my head in wonder and amazement, then I tend to give it a 5 star. Or if I'm left clutching the book to my chest in unadulterated happiness, then it gets a 5 star too!
Megan I can certainly agree with all of your Lisa Kleypas and your Julie Garwood. I have only read one Lori Foster and it was Jude's Law which I hated!! It made me angry how much I hated that one...but I do so want to try her out again. Plus I've been thinking about KMM's Highlander series...I'll have to go check them out again and look for your review!
my tastes in books have changed quite a bit from when I first started reading steadily. So books I might have given 5 stars at the time might be a 3 or 4 now, because I have more to compare them too. Did that make sense? lol

Actually D.G., I just finally got to see the Count of Monte Cristo, and I LOVED it, so I can't wait to read it. I usually try to read a book before seeing the movie...but this one was such an old classic that was on my list to see for so long I just went ahead and watched it.

I, too, love the Count of Monte Cristo. I'm saving my re-read for a classics challenge on another site beginning in January.
here's my latest 5 star read this year...
don't like the name, but that's about it for what I didn't like!!!!
here is a link to my "5 Star" bookself. not all were read in 2010...http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/...
I am incredibly stingy with my 5-star ratings...to the point where apparently I have more 1-star ratings then 5. But I did have a few winners this year.
Is there a few of the above listed that I might have given a lower rating now? Yes, but at the time they were amazing to me so I'll stick with the rating I gave them at the time. Sometimes it's about a feeling a book gives you, not just the content that's in the book or the storyline. Like reading a book about the power of everlasting love when you just got engaged. The book may not have been great but it made you feel like everything was right in the world when you read it, because it mimiced your own emotions at the time.
Thanks for posting your 5 star reads! Its cool to see them especially when you say you're stingy with them cause then we know they had to be really really good to meet your standards. Angel's blood is on my tbr!
Remember when we started this topic a month ago and I only had one 5-star for the whole year? Can you believe that I've read three 5-stars since then? (Yes, it's been a really good October.)

I read the Highlanders first and there are several in there that are definate 5 star ratings for me(i'm kinda stingy too). One specifically, I remember crying and crying (can't remember the name though, i'm horrible at that! LOL!).
I keep mine seperated by year too and even have a 2010 re-reads as well. I need to go through and check out my 5 stars and seperate that way as well. i LUUURVE all of these "folders". "Folders" make me happy!

I did that this year marked all my 2010 books as read in 2010. I'm trying to reach my goal of 200 in 2010. 36 more to go!

I'm trying for 300 . . . I'm at 232. Next year, I want to do 365 . . .one for every day of the year.
Mollie, TOTAL 5* for me too!!
Bekah wrote: "awww...ignore them!!! List away...i don't know what it is but i love making lists..."me too. It calms me . . .I was stressed about the things I need to get done between now and Thanksgiving and as soon as I sat down and made my list and categorized it, I was okay. LOL~
Lists lists lists! I love them. I always underline the "title" and Keith picks on me relentlessly about my lists and titling and underlining them.

I've got 30 more to go as of today!
I'm not sure If I'll set a number next year. If I don't it may keep my reading down and that really isn't a good thing. I love to read.
I can now add the Tumble Creek Series by Victoria Dahl. Loved them. They were very funny, very steamy hot, and the heroines were pretty awesome with the perfect heroes!
it was 5 stars till the last page, when i realized it was over.. i could be a bit longer.. but this book made me cry and laugh so much.. its not everyone`s cup of tea because its very mild romance.. but what a good read that was.

And I loved it!! I was blown away by it, I couldn't put it down. I didn't expect to like it so much. I agree about the length I wish there was more or maybe an epilogue. But thank you for the suggestion! :)
