Wendy | 87 comments I've been wanting to read this book for YEARS! Orson Scott Card is a living legend. Let's read it.

Wendy | 87 comments I just finished Ender's Game...it was so bizarre and dark, but I really liked it!! Anyone else taking a stab?

message 3: by Katy (new)

Katy i love this book. the ending made me super uncomfortable for days, but I still, years later think about how perfectly it all came together and how "right" it felt.

Tracy Purdy | 5 comments Very dark, but I ripped through it...couldn't put it down.

Becky Dooley (rdooley65) | 8 comments My son started reading Orson Scott Card years ago. I've decided to read all of his books. My son is really excited about this!

Wendy | 87 comments Great, Becky! Pastwatch and Enchantment (also written by orson scott card)are supposed to be amazing....they are on my "to read" list, as well as the women of the old testament books...sarah, rachel, etc. So far, Ender's Game is the only OSC book I've read......but I think I'll join you in your quest to read them all. Living legend.....anyone else care to tackle this?

Anne (mahubble) Not every Card book is worth reading. There are 2 or 3 that I would avoid. But he can sure tell a story. Pastwatch, Enchantment, the women of the Old Testament, Saints, Stone Tables, the Bean series. Lots of good books to choose from.

Which 2 or 3? So others don't waste their time? My son David, has stuck mosly to the Alvin Maker series, and the Enders game series, which he can't say enough about how GREAT they are.

Anne (mahubble) I don't recommend Lovelock, Songmaster, Hart's Hope, Wyrms. He writes a few books that are more in the creepy genre, like Homebody, Lost Boys, Treasure Box. Those are OK, but not my favorites.

Another book that is high on my (very long) list of books to read, I got a copy of this one briefly from the library after a long wait (due to the popularity generated by the movie), but I never began reading it. My wife's cousin gave one of my sons his copy recently, so maybe I'll borrow it when I find a lull in my current books...
