Jaga (jagatka) | 3 comments I haven't read Don't Call it Night yet so cannot go into detail but what I can say is that I love how you get the sense of location from Oz's books. There are these great descriptions about eating bread with olive oil looking out to the sea in The Same Sea.

Jaga (jagatka) | 3 comments hint: it's in the 'polls' :) I have been the only one to answer it so far. It's a lonely business to be an Oz's fan, it seems...

I never thought about that this way, perhaps because:
a) I started reading Oz with My Michael so the cliche of OZ being a women's writer stuck in my mind (despite reading 5 or 6 different ones).

b) I consider Israel being a young country, not historically speaking but inhabited by young people.
