Hi Steven! Thanks for having me. And thank you again for the 4 Star review and very gracious words. :)
Sorry I didn't check in earlier but I was running errands all day. But I'm here now so let's get this party started!! :)
Hi PQ! I'm new to the group but wanted to stop in for moral support. Thanks for interviewing on my blog. I got to know Seth a little better but look forward to reading their story soon.Do you have another book in the works? Is it a sequel?
Hey Deanna! Thanks for allowing me to drop by. :)I do have another book I'm working on. You can read the first 13 chapters on my profile page under P.Q.'s writings. It's tentatively titled "Fairy". I plan on changing it to a more appropriate title later on.
Please feel free to check it out! :)
Hey P.Q. My questions for an author after reading or while reading their book is always these things; If you could cast the roles of these characters with the actors & actresses of today who might you cast? And if you had to pick a favorite movie director for the film adaption who might that be? Then, if you were to choose a composer for the soundtrack or a list of songs to be played within the movie what would you pick?
Hey Steve,I love that guy who played "Mogli" in "The Jungle Book. I can't remember his name but he has that look about him, or the guy who plays "Sam" from "New Moon".
I've had a few people tell me that "Amy Adams" would make a great Shannon, but I'm not sure she'd be okay with the love scenes. hee hee
The director? I would probably pick Sodaburg. I think that's how you spell his last name. He's the one who directed "Erin Brachovich". I love his style.
As far as the soundtrack, I would want the music to be totally original, but there are scenes where she listens to music and when she goes to the club so I would want pop music and disco music played.
Hello P.Q. thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to talk with us. So my questions are:
1. Since when did you know you wanted to be a writer?
2. Was there any inspiration behind writing Her Sanctuary?
3. Were there any personal experiences that went behind writing Her Sanctuary?
1. Since when did you know you wanted to be a writer?

1. That's easy. I didn't. I had never written anything before but maybe a short story, book report for school and a poem here and there. When I was laid off from my job in 2008 due to the housing market slump, I picked up my daughter's paint brush and painted my very first picture. I continued painting for about a year, but after a while I lost my inspiration. My daughter had moved out after getting married and I was bored! She writes and after one really good brainstorming session, I thought up the storyline for HS. It was kinda fuzzy and we were going to write it together but personal circumstances prevented her from proceeding so I went on alone. It was like opening the floodgates. Once I started, I couldn't stop. There aren't any personal experiences behind HS. It is 100% fictional. If you read the book, you'd say, "Thank God for that!". Shannon's past was horrendous, Seth's past was tragic. The only thing that even comes close to personal is the chemistry between the characters Seth & Shannon. When my hubby and I met over 33 years ago, we were CRAZY for each other. We couldn't keep our hands off each other and if we were within ten feet of each other, we had to be touching. I tapped into that when writing the love scenes, but that's it. The rest is just my weird imagination.
Thanks for the questions Lovely! :)
Hey Steven,I just was on another thread that Lovely Little Love has created for discussion of Her Sanctuary. Is this the wrong thread or is hers? I just want to be correct.
Thanks. Oh, and it would be great if you posted that wonderful review you wrote to amazon.com. Just when you get a minute. :)

Hi P.Q. the thread I created is for discussing the book and this thread is for answering questions.
1.Can you tell us a little bit about your road to publishing?
2. How long was the writing process?
2. How long was the writing process?
Oh, okay. Sorry about that. :)Okay, I'll answer question #2 first if that's okay?
It took me about eight months from start to finish. Sometimes I would write a few hours a day and sometimes I would write 8 to 10 hours a night. There were nights when I would stay up until the wee hours of the morning. When I felt the creative juices flowing, it was very hard to stop.
Once I had my final draft ready, it took about two months for the publishing process.
I used a self-publishing company that charged a nominal fee and of course gets a huge percentage of the profits, but when you use one of these companies, that's what you get. I really can't say anything bad about them, they did exactly what their contract called for. I just wish I'd known that you can self-publish with amazon.com, Smashwords or Creatspace.com for virtually nothing and they only take a very small percentage.
If I don't snag an agent by the time I finish my next project, I will definitely try one of the alternatives.
Hey P.Q. I will put that review up at Amazon for you and I do hope you get a different deal with your next few books cause you deserve to make some bucks on your work.Oh and I was getting this weird vibe while reading the book and almost saw Lou Diamond Philips as Joseph, what do you think?
Hey Steven! I'm at the store but I thought I'd drop by and say Hi! I've always thought Lou was a hunk. I loved him in "Young Guns". But, that was like 15 years ago and he is just a little to "mature" to be Seth. Too bad, huh? I think the guy who played Mogli on Jungle Book and who play Bruce Lee in the Story of Bruce Lee would be really good as Seth. He'd just have to wear blue contact lenses. LOL
Thanks again for your lovely words of encouragment. You made me smile!
I actually meant him for the part of Joseph. I've seen him in a Twilight Zone episode where he played a bad guy and he did it pretty well. He did it to the point where I was really hating him as much as I hated Joseph.
He might be I haven't seen him in anything lately and with the unemployment rate in this country he might be happy to work for peanuts :o)
Yeah, I mean he was on that reality show, "I'm a Celebrity, Get me out of here!" So you might be right.
Hey Lou, if you're reading this, how would you like to be in a movie, with no budget and no film crew. LOL
Just kidding Steven. :)
I hope to get some more writing done tonight. Cross your fingers for me, okay?
Hey Steven!I am busy writing a short story for the Book Freaks Sept/Oct writing contest.
My Daughter just entered hers. You should check it out. She's a fledgling writer and when I told her about the contest, she jumped at the chance to enter.
Her name is Roxy Glisson. She's dying for someone to comment on it. I can't because my opinion is biased.
Let her know what you think, okay?
Wow so cool to have both of you writing for this contest. I don't know how I am going to judge these stories so far. I've read two that I really liked a lot so far and I have a good feeling I will like yours and your daughter's. I wish there was a way we could have 1 prize and then a prize for 2 or 3 runners up of a printed copy of a book full of all these stories that got entered. Then the people that didn't win could buy a copy of the book and have a book with their story in it which is kind of a prize in itself huh.Anyway, I will check out both stories and tell your daughter to friend add me so I can check out here writings on her profile as well.
