We have a give-a-way posted for this book that is open through October 31, 2010 if anyone is interested in winning a free copy.
Is this an anthology of short horror fiction? It sounds interesting, where do I sign up for the give away?
Of course it is horror. What other kinds of anthologies are there. Hahaha, see below for the link and good luck.http://www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...
Hey Chris...Thanks so much for the e-book you sent me of JournalStone's 2010...I am enjoying it so far...I've already read "Huddled Masses" by Corey R. Scales...chilling, ohhh!!! I kept hearing things, and looking around me...it was a real thriller :) I can't wait to read the rest...I think you've introduced me to a new reading genre. How did you decide on the particular authors that contributed to this anthology?
Corey's story was fantastic. I really enjoyed it.JournalStone had a contest and requested story submittals. The authors chosen were the winners. We will be doing this annually going forward and will do an anthology each year. 2010 was our first one and it was very exciting.
I can't wait until it is published.
I offered the electronic version to all members of the group, you didn't respond. Would you like a copy.If so, just shoot me your e-mail and I will send it over.
The artwork for the book is complete, now to work on the book cover.Still hoping to publish this in a week or two. Trying to get it out for the Halloween crowd. :)
Well, our cover is now complete and the novel is off to printing for the proof copy.I hope it is perfect and we will then publish the novel.
Yeah.
I just started the first story and it really takes off and reels you in quickly. I have a feeling this is going to be a favorite of mine pretty quickly as well. Are there any plans for a Goodreads drawing on this one?
Of course. There is a GoodReads and a LibraryThing drawing that is currently happening.Glad you enjoyed the first story. I loved it as well.
These definitely have that Tales From The Crypt / Creepshow feel. I wish Romero and King would get together for another one of those movies.
That would be awesome. I definitely agree.I can't tell you which one are my favorites, but I did enjoy all of them.
The facebook fanpage is really takiing off. You guys should joine if you haven't already.http://www.facebook.com/pages/Journal...
WOW, JournalStone's Warped Words is actually ranked #53 in electronic books under ghosts and #92 under ghost books. I have no idea what that means, but apparently somebody likes the book. AWESOME! Thanks everyone and take a look at it if you haven't yet. Still no print version yet, but coming very very soon.
Hmmm, I have no idea how to even find out. Hopefully it will be Warped Words in a week or two. :)Have you read this one yet. I can't remember.
Yep, I started it and it is very good. I wouldn't be surprised if it heads up to number one soon. This is the perfect kind of read for this time of year. You might need to pass this along to a really good horror film director/producer :o) Oh did you get that message I sent about the Draculas ebook thing? I think you would definitely enjoy that ebook.
Yah, I am actually already reading it. The authors sent it to me to review, but I am behind schedule. I am about 120 pages into it.A little on the gory side for me. hahahahaha, pretty funny that I would say that.
But a very good book so far. I am not convinced it is great yet, but I would say it is very good. Man, what do I know though.
OK, just finished Draculas. I would have to stick with my original assessment. It is very good, but not great. I think some of the campy lines had me a little turned off at times, but overall I really enjoyed it. It was an action packed intense read for sure.
I guess it's just that kind of thing with this title either you are into that kind of campy line thing at times or not. I really enjoyed the goryness and liked the was Randle and that Clay guy got along after everything. If I was to recommend it, I would say it is along the lines of the Evil Dead type feel to me. I think the Benny The Clown character put things over the top for me. Clowns creep me out and just knowing the sound of that squeak, squeak, squeak coming around the corner is attached to some wickedly sharp teeth and talons is very disturbing to me. It's interesting how a story is viewed by two people. Like The Exorsist was the sacriest thing to me growing up and the new one with the added scenes is even scarier but to my daughter it doesn't scare her at all which I think is due to her not growing up in a very religous home like I did when I was little.
I should have the proof copy in my hands today. It wasn't easy. Some issues with the printer really set us back. Cross your fingers it is in good shape and then we are on to printing. I will be sure and let everyone know, but we might be close to the finish line. AWESOME!
Wow...that is awesome...the anthology has been really good so far...I'm almost finished. Thanks for sending me a copy...My mind would have never went to some of these stories, and just in time for Halloween...good job :)
That is excellent Pamela. I can't wait to read your review. Glad you are enjoying it.I just got the proof copy of the book in print. It looks fantastic. Should start showing up on websites soon. :)
The click to look inside is up on Amazon now if anyone is interested in taking a look see. Tell your friends to check it out. Thanks
yeah it's not Christmas and it's still before :O) actually I forgot man you are a good reminder...maybe I should stretch you out and tie you around my finger huh he he he
Hey Christopher, there is a review up at Goodreads now. I will get one up at Amazon and Barnes & Nobles shortly...dial up connections are so sad :O( I hope the new year is filled with high speed once again...I miss it so much.
