Wow. Kind of wish I had picked this up earlier. I didn't know there was a movie about it either. I just requested it from Blockbuster Online.

Here's my review: http://vacui-projects.blogspot.com/20...

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I didn't know there was a movie either. I have had this one for a while and I don't know why I have put it off. I really liked Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers and Just Listen by Sarah Dessen was good as well, although not nearly as dark and gritty as SGA. I know they are not the same really, but the subject matter is.

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 827 comments I'd only heard of it because of a banned books challenge. At some point I might read this one.

One of my GR friend's brought this up in another group, and I remembered about this one, so I got the audio, the narrator is good. I didn't realize there was a movie, so I requested that movie from the library.

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments From some people I've heard that this book is amazing, but then others say it's downright horrible. Everyone I've met had opinions in the extreme about this book. For some reason I'm not very interested in this novel. . .I might pick it up one day though.

It's because the novel is depressing Jasmine. Plus, it's written in a different style. I liked it though. That's what drew me in.

Kristin Stewart is in the movie. It's her playing her same role again. Socially awkward and timid. And the lip bitting the main character does... I bet that's where Stewart got that habit from.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments She must be the go to person for socially awkward.

I think so.

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments I dislike Kristen Stewart. -_- I don't even think she's good at acting socially awkward. All she has is a monotone voice and that face that always seems slightly scared. . .I think she's a good actress for a scary movie, but for everything else I feel like there are way better ones.

Carrie (Care) (care76) | 1746 comments I don't want to see the movie until after I've read the book. Is it called Speak too or does it have a different name?

It's called Speak. I think it was from 2004.

Jasmine (jadorejas94) | 950 comments Wow, that makes me want to read the book. O.o And Kristen Stewart actually looks like she did a good job in the movie.
