message 4: by Tory (new)

Tory Sorry Isamlq I haven't read them but they look interesting.

I would really like to know if Need by Carrie Jones is any good. I have a friend that tells me I should read it that its amazing but then I have another friend that says I would hate it.

message 5: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Oct 23, 2010 05:55PM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I didn't really like Need. The whole evil pixie concept was creepy and neither the hero or heroine were exciting.

Are you talking about Remember Me by Christopher Pike? If so, it's pretty good. It's not one of my favorites, but I definitely wanted to finish it & see what happened.

Smith , Night World, No. 2 Dark Angel; The Chosen; Soulmate (Night World, #4-6) by L.J. Smith , Night World, No. 3 Huntress, Black Dawn, Witchlight (Night World, #7-9) by L.J. I've never read any of the James Patterson books, is this the first one I should go with? And does anyone know which series out of these three is best?

message 20: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 914 comments Thanks Dora610! That looks great!
And as for Catherine, I have read the Night World series. They are good! The others are still on my "to-read" list! :D Good luck with whatever one you choose!

Crystalmarie (CrystalsNovels) Has anyone read the "Thirst" series by Christopher Pike? I picked it up at the goodwill for a buck, and i dont know if i can actually get into it. It's not the newer version, its a older cover - maybe thats whats putting me off?!

nah i tried it i couldnt get into it either :(

message 23: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Shoffitt | 11 comments I've read the "Thirst" series...or at least the first 2 volumes (I think there might be three now). It was alright...I liked the main character and a lot of the plot was fine. I would use it as a 'filler' series- you know, something to read because it's on hand and you haven't picked up the next book you are super excited to read.

message 24: by Stacy (new)

Stacy | 75 comments I read the Thirst series and yea they are pretty good books agree with a fill in though sometimes I would get bored and seem to be just grazing through to get it finished and other times it really kept me involved I guess you just have to be in the mood. Good Luck:)

I agree 100% about Thirst. But for some reason, now that I've read the first two HUGE books, I have to have the third. lol

message 26: by Crystalmarie (new)

Crystalmarie (CrystalsNovels) Thanks for your input! Really helps determine the status of when i will read it. haha. seems i will just use it as a filler, no need to stop buying the good ones just to read that one. haha.

message 27: by [deleted user] (new)

I have come across a series that is fairly new. It is not the norm for werewolf novels, its a skin walker thing.
It is really different can't put my finger on it, but it is doesn't really fit into the other paranormal, vamps & weres, I have read before.
I read the first three books of Wild seires, hopefully there will be another one coming. It looks like it will be.
I am kinda of torn between which one I liked best, but I think it was the second one, wild justice. Wild Justice

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I just got an ARC galley of Always a Witch (Witch, #2) by Carolyn MacCullough , but it's a sequel to Once a Witch (Witch, #1) by Carolyn MacCullough .

Has anyone read Once a Witch? Is there too much info in that book that I have to read it before reading book 2?

message 29: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 914 comments Can't help ya there...But I do want to read it. Let me know (when you read it) if it's worth it. Same with the ARC!

I actually dislike that series now >.< I don't know what book it was that one of the girls die..but after that, I stopped reading it. It wasn't that..good anymore. She made everything interesting to me.

I liked those books(: it's different. I'm looking forward to seeing how the third volume will be.

Camilla (camillaisloved) | 914 comments Yeah! I didn't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't what I wanted. I didn't get as far as you in the series...only the 3rd book! lol...

*Mrs. Brightside* Haha(; yeah..it was interesting though.

message 33: by Catherine (new)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments I liked all the history in Thirst.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I just finished a very original series, it's not like the paranormal romance stuff I have had read. I like the young adult paranormal romance genre, but this is truly different from that.
I don't get it, everyone is always looking for something new, but I think this series is getting lost in the crowd.
I would recommend it to anyone who likes the young adult paranormal.
Wild Evolution, book I of the Wild Series by C. Fern Cook Wild Justice (Wild, #2) by C. Fern Cook Wild Legacy (book #3 of the wild series) by C. Fern Cook

I think its the covers.. they aren't t doing anything for me.. but I just read the blurbs.. they sound interesting... thanks for the tip BTW:)

The books are set in the Colorado mountains. That makes it different. The guy got bit by a werewolf when he goes to save his horses.
The guy hides the body of the attacker because he doesn't think anyone will believe he killed it in self-defense.
He comes off kind like of a jerk at first but I think I would be kind of a jerk if I was worried about getting put in jail for murder.
Anyway, its not teen love or the normal urban werewolf thing. It is a skin walker never heard of it before this book.

The first book is a little rough, but the books improve. Each one is different from the other.
I thought it was orginal for these kind of books.

has anyone read Gone (Gone, #1) i just gout it and have heard mixed reviews any thoughts??

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) I've read it.

What do I say about Gone? It was hard to get into. The author's writing style was a bit dry for me at first. In fact, I only got around to finishing it because of a buddy read.

But...I did end up liking it by the end of the book. I give the author credit for not taking the easy way out. The book had some violent parts that made me flinch a little. I think I considered it somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. At some point I do plan on reading book 2, but I'm not in a huge hurry to get to it.

Rach (pagesofpiper) (piperbunny) I feel exactly the same as Stacia, I liked Gone, it was interesting, but I'm not sure I liked it enough to read the second book.

@Catherine, the Night World series is amazing, I read them as a teenager, very easy to read. Hopefully she will write the tenth book but I've been waiting about 12 years for it...

really??? should i return it??

Rach (pagesofpiper) (piperbunny) No, other people have enjoyed it and you might really like it! And it is a really interesting concept.

Plus it has 4 stars on here :)

Isamlq So after reading the fourth book, I'm totally obsessed with this series by Ilona Andrews:
Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews Magic Burns (Kate Daniels, #2) by Ilona Andrews Magic Strikes (Kate Daniels, #3) by Ilona Andrews Magic Bleeds (Kate Daniels, #4) by Ilona Andrews ...
The first and second ones were a bit slow but by the third and fourth, the story was awesome. :)

Catherine (cattymccat) | 754 comments I have a really hard time getting into adult PNR. I want to, I guess I just don't have the brain capacity for it. lol
