Emma (zeeberg) I, for one, am for abortion. If you happen to get pregnant, and you're in no condition to take care of your child, it would be cruel to have it. Of course, I think it's stupid not to try to PREVENT getting pregnant, if you don't want to. But, if it happens, you should have the chance to get out of it. 'Cause let's face it, children are hard work. No more hanging with friends. No more parties. Probably not much school either. And even if you gave the kid away, you would still have ruined your body and your mind, in an early age. You'd always go around with a feeling that something is missing.

Therefor, I am for abortion.

What do you think? Why?

message 2: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) i dont agree with it because it is still a life and for me youre killing somebody else, yu know?

message 3: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Yes. But if you have the child, it takes away your own life. Maybe not in the sense you think, but in another way. It's very unhealthy, mentally, to have a child when you're not ready. Of course, if you WANT to have the child, you should be allowed. But if you don't, that should also be your own choice.

- And if an abortion is murder, then so is a kick in the balls, for a boy. 'Cause it murders seedcells. Seedcells+egg=Non-human thing that maybe becomes a baby.

message 4: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) sperm is not alive in the sense that it has a beating herat on anything, but that thing that then becomes a baby has a beating heart after 20 days

message 5: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Yes, and if you get your abortion BEFORE twenty days, it will not be murder. You will kmow that your pregnant after twenty days, and i you dont want an abortion, you know that too, probably. So you can still get an abortion. It won't be murder.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Emma, I never read such an egoist opinion about abortion...

If you don't want to have a child, use a condom or something. If it happens anyway think about the child itself, it would be better to live or just be killed by their own fathers?

I'm in favour that the parents should choose if they want to have the child or not, but only if they haven't the conditions (like money, and specially love) for it.

I think I would never forgive myself if I haven't even try to make that child a happy person.

Yes, you loose friends, your body isn't the same, and stuff. But, who cares? A child gives you so much more... it's a part of you. Do you want anything more beautiful than that?

message 7: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) First of all, it is very much not egoist to want an abortion, if you get pregnant in an early age. If you're 16 years old and you get pregnant, what would you do then? Have the child? Puh-lease, you wouldn't be able to take care of it! The child would grow up with a parent who'll forever feel like their youth has been taken away. Have you ever met a person like that? They are ruined. Even when they get too old for a lot of things, they do it, 'cause they feel like they didn't get to when they should have.

Also, the child will grow up with the knowledge that they must likely ruined their moms/parents life. Where's the love in that?

- Yes, I'd rather get an abortion, if I felt that I wouldn't be able to take care of the child. I respect that you wouldn't get and abortion, that's your choice. We have very different mindsets, coming from very different contries.

Katie (lapiadramtica) | 17 comments I for one am against abortions. Its cruel to start something(a baby) then decide "Hey i don't want to take care of it so i'll just get rid of it" It mean.

If you dont think your ready to take care a baby and be a parent-Use a comdom for gosh sake. You dont accidentally have a baby. You need to be aware of the consequnces and then make you desision

message 9: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Look Katie, I never ever said that people should'nt use a condom! OF COURSE they should! I agree that it's stupid, stupid, stupid not to use a condom! If you don't use a condom, and you get pregnant, then I say you deal with the consequences. Have the baby and give it up for adoption. But if you DO use a condom, and you get pregnant anyway, the option should be there. The same goes for people who're raped.

message 10: by Katie (new)

Katie (lapiadramtica) | 17 comments People who get raped are different the didn't have a choice. I never said you idn't say people shouldn't use a condom. I'm just putting out what I think.
The option should be there only for people who get raped. People who made a mistake should have the baby and if they can't take care of it put it up for adoption.

message 11: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Yeah well, that's where we'll agree to disagree. I think it's incredibly stupid to not use a condom when you have sex, if you're not ready to take care of a child. If, however, you do use a condom, and you still get pregnant (They condom can burst), there has to be a way out. Same goes for raped. BUT! You can't part people like that. How will you know who was raped and who used a condom that burst? You don't. People'll just say that's what happened, and the get an abortion anyway. Which is why there really only is two options: Either abortions are allowed, or they are not. Don't get me wring, I want to hear your opinion on the thing (Hench the group name), but in reality there'll only be those options.

message 12: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) that is why girls here are taught to take the pill even if the guy wears condom

message 13: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Yes, that is smart. Girls here are taught that too, though not eveybody takes it. I mean, you only really take the pill if you have sex frequently, so if you've only had it a couple of times there's no point....

message 14: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) true, but still

message 15: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Still what?

message 16: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) I dont know...isnt there a pill you take when you just have ocasional sex? Idk

message 17: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) There is, but if you take it more than three times in your life, you will most possibly loose your anility to gived birthday. So that's not really the ideal solution... It's what you take if you do accidently have sex without condom...

message 18: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) oh. i wonder how can that be

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

I’m pro-choice. If someone wants to have an abortion, that’s their decision. For me personally, I don’t think I could do it. It’s a big decision, and I agree with Emma, it shouldn’t be your backup plan, like, “Hey, it’s okay if we don’t use a condom, I’ll just get an abortion if I get pregnant.” That’s not the way to look at abortion. However, every person should be entitled to have one if that’s what they want. Who am I to tell anyone what they can or can’t do with their body? No one.

But, my husband had a vasectomy a few years ago, and if we happened to get pregnant after going through the vasectomy process . . . well, abortion would likely be a main option for us. And I would hate for someone to say we couldn’t do that after we’d taken so many precautions to prevent pregnancy. Because, really, no one can say what’s right or wrong for my husband and me.

message 20: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) I've got nothing to add really. Candace said it all. I would probably get an abortion if I got pregnant right now, which I think is okay, seeing as I'm not nearly old enough to care for a child, or even to have the mind to carry it.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm for abortion....i think that people need options...if i were to get knocked up ((and i dont't plan to, trust me)) i would want another option rather than to carry out the pregenancy. But i do agree with Candace and Emma, it shouldn't be your backup plan.

message 22: by Danielle (new)

Danielle (Smiley1881) You guys are touching on some sensitive subjects in this group and I hope everybody can respect others opinions. The discussions should get pretty interesting.

I am not for abortion just because I'm religious and think that it shouldn't be done. I'm all for adoption instead but I do understand the reasoning of those for abortion. I just can't make it feel right to me. My decision may also be partially due to the fact I am unable to have children.

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

Fair enough.

message 24: by Keara (new)

Keara (kearachristine) Why should you have a say in whether or not another life comes onto this planet? You're taking away that spirit's chance at life. That is so. Not. Cool.

message 25: by [deleted user] (new)

Hey Danielle,
I appreciate your respectful view on pro-life. It’s refreshing to see someone who can support pro-life without being rude about it. Now, you already know my opinion; I’m pro-choice. For me, personally, if it came down to it, and I was in the office, I doubt I’d be able to go through with it, but I would like to at least have the option.

message 26: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) Yes, I agree with Candace. If I got pregnant now, on the age of 16, I do not think I could carry the child. I must admit, I think I'd get an abortion. Of course, it's very unlikely I'd get pregnant, 'cause I too am unable to have kids.

message 27: by Lauren (new)

Lauren I think that you should have the choice, but i would never do it myself. My reasons being that some people cant have babies, so i would feel selfish destroying mine. Also i couldnt go through with killing my own kid =/. But i defo think people should have the choice. Especialy if a girl gets pregnent through rape.

message 28: by Keara (new)

Keara (kearachristine) The only thing I see is that people use it as birth control. :/ That is so. Not. Cool.

message 29: by Nathan (new)

Nathan People don't use it as birth control. They use it when birth control fails. You really think girls go, "Hey, I will just go through an extremely painful and expensive operation if I get pregnant. Forget the pill!"? Give me a break.

message 30: by Kylee (new)

Kylee (kyleeraereader) I have mixed feelings about abortion. I think if you are too stupid to use proper protection and end up getting pregnant, there is no way you should get an abortion. How is it the baby's fault and why should they have to die? If you aren't ready for a baby, give it up for adoption!

But, if a teenage girl is raped and ends up pregnant, I feel like she should have the option of keeping the baby or not. But rather than abortion, I think if you are raped, just take the morning-after pill...

Keara (kearachristine) Nathan wrote: "People don't use it as birth control. They use it when birth control fails. You really think girls go, "Hey, I will just go through an extremely painful and expensive operation if I get pregnant...."

I know people who are very careless about sex, and have had quite a few abortions, with no slight attempt at birth control in the first place. They just don't think.

Same, and especially if the baby won't be able to get adopted or if they won't be healthy. Or if the baby would hurt the mother.

message 33: by Kylee (new)

Kylee (kyleeraereader) It just seems wrong to me to kill something as precious and innocent as a baby, especially for a mistake you made. The thought makes my stomah churn :(

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree wholeheartedly...the situation, the person involved, etc. There isn't a blanket 'yes' or 'no'. There are variables...

message 35: by Keara (new)

Keara (kearachristine) The mistakes OTHER people made... I think that's the only exception...

message 36: by Keara (new)

Keara (kearachristine) Or the baby/fetus wouldn't live very long after birth, and it'd be in a lot of pain.

message 37: by Keara (new)

Keara (kearachristine) Yes, my old username was actually... LOL, this is weird... "Your Friendly Neighborhood Grammar Nazi".

message 38: by Keara (new)

Keara (kearachristine) Indeed I did. Where do you know me from and how could you tell it was me? :O

message 39: by Keara (new)

Keara (kearachristine) >_> Creeper... ;P

message 40: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) ((Ahem. All non-discussions should either be written in these (-) or in the chatting subject. Thank you))

As for abortion; someone said that they know a lot of girls who've had many abortions. Well, those girls are extremly dumb then. I don't think what these few girls do, should have an impact on the rest of the worlds girls, and what they/we can and cannot do. I think that everybody should have the possibility, the choice.

message 41: by Nathan (new)

Nathan I know people who are very careless about sex, and have had quite a few abortions, with no slight attempt at birth control in the first place. They just don't think.

I don't believe your story. You know multiple people who have each had several abortions? That is dubious. How many people and how many abortions?

message 42: by Robyn (new)

Robyn | 56 comments i feel very strong on this topic and see having an abortion as killing a baby:/

message 43: by Nathan (new)

Nathan i feel very strong on this topic and see having an abortion as killing a baby:/

But it isn't a baby. It is a fetus. Babies and fetuses aren't the same thing. That's why they have different names and definitions.

message 44: by Kylee (new)

Kylee (kyleeraereader) While it is a fetus, I still look at it as taking away a life.

message 45: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) I don't beleive in preventing pregnancy, or abortion. It is rong in my relelgion. Abortion is like killing... and preventing is ruining the perfect way in which God makes this universe work out. If u dnt wanna risk it, then dnt do anything.

message 46: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) This is where we'll seriously agree to disagree. I think it's an interesting subject, as people have very different views on it. If killing a festus, something that's still far enough from human that it dosen't even have a gender, let alone thougts or humanity in any way, is wrong, then isn't it just as wrong to kick someone in the gut? I know a lot of people don't see this point, but you do kill seedcells when you kick a guy on the gut, and those seedcells could become festuses who could become kids.

message 47: by Nathan (new)

Nathan While it is a fetus, I still look at it as taking away a life.

It is taking a life away, but so are a lot of the activities we engage in. Antibacterial soap takes millions of lives away each hand washing. Killing a fetus is, when done in the early stages of pregnancy, ,merely destroying a glob of cells. It has to become even recognizable as human or distinguishable from other animals.

message 48: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) LOL, I dnt think it's right to kick a guy in the gut either, so...

and nathan.. a fetus will become a baby. bacteria is gna b bacteria for the rest of its life
