I really enjoyed this movie and the cast was great! Loved Tilney :D and everyone. The settings were nice and the ending so sweet. Not completely true to the book but great all the same.
Not right to see innocent kitty being naughty Isabella !!!
Has anyone seen the older NA? (1986 ish I believe) I have yet to watch that one :)

Oh Mr. Tilney, that actor of 2007 has tainted his face all over the pages of Northanger Abbey, hehe. yes, there were extra scenes added to the movie. I recently saw the 1986 version Soph. At first, I wanted to press stop and discontinue but I was determine to stick it out. It got a bit better, there were some things in there that baffled me and the costumes distracted me. Hats have come a long way.

thanks Marren! I have yet to see that one (as you will see from my comment about watching all possible adaptations) I heard that one was a bit of a drag.. but i will still watch it!

I really liked the 07 version of Northanger Abbey, it's definitely better than the 80's version which was somewhere between boring and vulgar.

The hot dreams thing... Catherine was having dreams about the book she was reading, in the original book it was the Mysteries of Udolpho, in the 07 version she read that and moved on to The Monk and she dreams about that instead.

Jane Austen mentions Mrs Radcliffe's novels several times and having read Northanger Abbey for the first time (years ago) I immediately set about finding a copy of Udolpho... 1200 pages of sylvan hills and a fainting heroine later, I do not blame the film makers for substituting The Monk, needless to say I never went looking for The Romance of the Forest. ;)
