What is PowerClans?
PowerClans are a group of Warrior cat clans in which all warriors have been gifted a power by StarClan.

How do cats get powers?
On the night of their naming ceremony (called the gifting night), while they are guarding the clan, cats are visited by a member of StarClan and given their power.

Can you lose your power?
Yes, StarClan can take your power away and they may give it back. If your cat's power is taken, it's gone. They no longer will have a power unless StarClan deems them worthy again.

Is it different for leaders?
Yes, all leader and medicine cats are gifted with an extra power when they are given their position. For medicine cats, only one cat may have the power at a time. If an apprentice has been training and the medicine cat gives them their name and makes them a full medicine cat of the clan, then the apprentice will not get the medicine cat gift until the current medicine cat passes.

So, what are the powers?
Most of them are related to the elements. There is a thread that goes more in depth if you are curious.

Do I get to pick my cat's power?
Yes and no. Clans tend to have particular powers and related cats are likely to have related powers. Once we get well started, you will have to pick a power from a StarClan cat. So, you may pick within reason.

Okay, but I have a really cool idea...
All ideas for new power must be run by me, no ifs, ands, or buts.

What About Loners?
Ah... Good Question. Loners do not have powers, nor do rouges. If you leave your clan you are stripped of your power. Once loners have proven that they are loyal to their clan and the warrior code, then they are given a power.

And Kitty-Pets?
After much internal debate I have decided... No two-leggers and no kitty pets. Sorry.

Let me answer this question in parts.

If a cat were to be evil, or planning against the clan and was not trustworthy, would StarClan not give him his powers?
The cat would have to display an evil nature for StarClan not given him/her a power on the night they became a warrior. While the cats of StarClan are wise, they are not all knowing. They can not read a cat's mind. For StarClan to know a cat was evil, the cat would have to act evil.

Or could the Dark Forest cats do it?
Dark Forest cats can't not give powers. A cat gives the power that they have, so many cats in StarClan no longer have a power, because they have given it to a living cat.
Cats who are sent to the Dark Forest have been stripped of their power and have no power to give.

Or would he get the powers, but the very next day have them taken away?
Cats can have their power taken away at any time. When it is deemed necessary a cat can be striped of their powers. There is then a trial of sorts to decided if and when they may get their powers back.

Does this mean we can't have evil cats?
No, it just means you will need to be a bit more creative with your cats and have them be sly in their actions.

What if I don't want to have a power?
On the night your cat receives their warrior name, they also get their power. They may choose not to have a power. Remember, you might not have able to get a power down the road if you change your mind.

What if I don't like the power my cat gets?
You might not get a choice when it comes to your power. I'm sorry that is just part of the role play.

What if something happens and your cat can no longer use their power?
A cat only ever gets one power, unless they are the leader or the medicine cat. Of example if your cat get hurt and is unable to walk, they may keep their power or return it to StarClan so a new warrior can have it. If you release your power back to StarClan you will not get a new power and the one you had can not be returned to you.
