Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I thought we already started a thread on this before, but I can't find it. I was hoping to someone could recommend a few good historical/ medieval romance novels. I was hoping there might be at least one or two books centered around Arthurian legend. Thanks!

I haven't, but I wish I did. I saw a copy at the used bookstore the other day. I may go back this weekend to see if its still there.

Megan | 1285 comments I picked up Queen of Camelot by Nancy McKenzie a long time ago and have yet to read it so I don't know how good it is, but it has excellent reviews on Amazon. It is from Guinevere's POV in first person.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments I read a couple by Madeline Hunter and I thought they were pretty good. Good details and description of time and place. The story was good too. Also the Medieval Song series by Catherine Coulter was good on making me feel like I could see the castles and surroundings. The Angel Knight by Susan King and Lady Miracle by Susan King were really good too.

Sandra J Weaver (sandraweaver) | 361 comments If you're interested in historical fiction based on the Arthurian legends, you might like Mary Stewart's four books: The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills , The Last Enchantment, and The Wicked Day. I know that Roberta Gellis has written a number of medieval romances. I really liked The Bond of Blood,Knight's Honor, and The Sword and the Swan which all deal with the reign of King Stephen. All are well written and well researched-no anachronisms, thank goodness.

Zee Monodee (zee_monodee) Other historicals I've loved, but I'm not sure would be considered medievals, are Phylippa Gregory's Tudor series. The Constant Princess by Philippa Gregory The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory

I read Lady Macbeth A Novel by Susan Fraser King a while ago, and really enjoyed it. I just love reading a story re-told from the female's pov. I'll have to get a copy of Guenevere soon.

I'll have to look for that one, Michelle. It's true that having the character's POV is amazing. I found that in The Other Boleyn Girl as well. Fascinating!

I read that one a year or two ago. I forget exactly when but it was an audio and it took forever to finish cuz it was a really long book. Don't remember a whole lot about it now but the reason I read it is because I LOVE Shakespeare and MacBeth is one of my top 3 Shakespearean plays I love to read or see performed.

Macbeth is my absolute favorite! I remember seeing some futuristic remake at one of the local colleges when I was in high school, which was really good too. My dad even has the whole play memorized from playing Macbeth in a school play years, and years, and years, and years ago, so I'm a little partial. =)

Kelley (shewolf0316) My favorite is Romeo and Juliet. Then I'm torn between Hamlet and MacBeth for #2 on my list. :-)
