is it pro choice, murder, whatever they want to label it as. What do you think?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

I think it's murder.

message 3: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (alwaysrebecca) | 635 comments It most definatly depends on the situtation, for me at least.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, even then. It's selfish to take the life of your child to save your own.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Just because the mother's dieing doesn't mean the baby is going to too. There's still a chance the baby can be saved. And if God wishes to take both of them, then that's God's choice. But when you're killing the child yourself, it's murder.

message 6: by wolf spirit (new)

wolf spirit | 604 comments Oh, boy not Abortion. THis is so controversial. I think that it depends on the situation. If I was about to die and my fetus was healthy or if was killing the fetus I would rather die and let my fetus live as part of me still lives within the fetus. It is a person, it is an animal, and it is a living breathing creature. I know that it might be selfish thinking of yourself more than a little life that is just about to begin. In my understanding my child will have a better chance, a better life than me because of this new world. I know this world for how old I am and my child will never be able to see it for him/her. I say I will let the child live unless the child cannot be saved and the child was killing the mother, but only then will I feel murder on my hands if I did that. I don't think I can live with myself for not knowing what it will be like holding onto a child and the closeness we could of had. I would never, ever kill my fetus. I am not sure which words to use so I used Fetus and Child. this is what I feel.
Im so sorry if this is so long lol.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Why quotations on baby? And still. That's blaming the innocent, growing life inside of you and killing it to fix your problems, and it's selfish. It's called a sacrafice, and I'd go into that further but then I'd be getting into religion.

message 8: by wolf spirit (new)

wolf spirit | 604 comments Really?Interesting Peyton and H.a.l.e.y. What is both of your debates about?

message 9: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (alwaysrebecca) | 635 comments I believe she put baby in quotes because so many things can go wrong during a pregnancy. Sometimes the fetus will be dead part way through the pregnancy or have a severe cases of spina bifida or ancephela will can cause the baby to die at birth. Sometimesthese cicumstances endanger the mother's life by carring the fetus all nine months and birthing it. In cases like this it is aceptable to have an abortion. Saving at least one life is better than loseing two.

message 10: by wolf spirit (new)

wolf spirit | 604 comments Very Good Rebecca. Well said.

message 11: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (alwaysrebecca) | 635 comments Thank you, I did a whole report on spina bifida and ancephela for my freshman bio. class. Sad but quite fascinating.

message 12: by wolf spirit (new)

wolf spirit | 604 comments Yea It is sad. In my class two classmates had to do a report on Spina Bifida and Ancephela. It ain't pretty either

message 13: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (alwaysrebecca) | 635 comments I know, the pics. were really disturbing an sad. But the best way to prevent is to take the prenatal vitamines and not drink or drugs when pregnant. Thank goodness most people do that and the majority of babies born are healthy.

message 14: by Brooke (new)

Brooke | 663 comments it depends. what if your sixteen and you dont want a child? i'd go for adoption but would any of you guys do abortion for that situation?

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

Okay, so I'm aware that situations occur where the mother and child die at birth, but again, I'd be getting into religion if I started defending my case on that.

There are just too many factors to say I would or I wouldn't. Every situtation is different and no on has the exact same set of morals and ethics either. If I ever found myself in that predicament then I wouldn't have a abortion.

In a case like this one, in my opinion abortion is unaceptable, and adoption is the best solution.

I think that woman are allowed to make a choice no matter the situation...There is no real fine line...We are like...blah blah pro this and pro that and we can not see the bigger picture that in reality foster kids do not fair that well...social problems arise from this a lot....We have a population that is too big...Not enough people with parenting skills and couples who realize to late that they do not want each other...
What first needs to be taught: To learn to live with oneself, to learn to live with others and then the ability to make sane choices when the time arises....We are not that evolved...If you are religious, good for you as well as others...We tell us what to do...Let no one tell you what to do and if you become pregnant...work together, cause if you do not then there will be millions of angry people out there with no families stuggling to survive, wishing they were not born...There is a select few that have great lives...That is the choice though...I am on neither side...pro or negative...I had a gf that had an abortion and I still think of the little that might have been...That is something that everyone needs to deal with when the time arises...The best choice is abstanence and the ability to not judge when someone is faced with a difficult decision like that.

Everything happens for a reason. If you become pregnant then it was your choice to have sex (in most cases). It will just become a decision that will be there in the back of your mind for the rest of your life. You can think about I shoud have, or I could have. You can rationalize that this isn't the best decision for me but at the end of it you need to stop thinking about you because it no longer is just about you. This is whether you go through with abortion or not.

message 21: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) I am all about Pro-Life. If God wanted one to have a child, then who is that said person to say no. If He didn't want one to have a child, then He wouldn't have let it happen. Life is precious. Some need to stop being selfish and live with their choices. Or if they didn't have a choice, suck it up. That child is a part of them no matter what. Love unconditionally.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I believe that it is a woman's choice if she wants to get rid of her own flesh and blood her choice. But personaly my mother left me when I was little so I would never leave/give up my child I take responsibility for my actions.

message 23: by ~Tormiester~ (new)

~Tormiester~ (hatsoff343) | 68 comments I don't care if the mother doesn't want it, every one deserves to live, no matter how small. "Everyone is here for a reason" these words might not be true, or they might be the exact truth, no one knows. However, it's a good thing to tell the mother. "You were born for a reason, so why is your baby any different? Imagine if that baby was you. Would you want to die? Without even being given a chance?"

message 30: by Camilla (new)

Camilla (camillaisloved) That just makes me want to cry! And just to let you know, I'm not judging.

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

Well, I did She heard a mouthful from me!!

message 32: by wolf spirit (new)

wolf spirit | 604 comments haha....don't they have an open adoption if you couldn't provide the things for your baby, but you still wanted to be part of the childs life.

message 33: by Alice (new)

Alice (aliciairene) I think it would depend on the situation.
But if I wanted not to keep my hypothetical baby, I would give it to adoption.

message 34: by wolf spirit (new)

wolf spirit | 604 comments Oh yes, it would I agree Alice.

message 35: by Alice (new)

Alice (aliciairene) We discussed this last yeat on my Ethic's class. Many classmates thought it was wrong to abort.
The only way I could ever be prone to do so, is that an unfortunate event like getting raped happened.
I really wouldn't want a baby made that way.

I don't know, what do you think?

message 36: by wolf spirit (new)

wolf spirit | 604 comments Hmmm...if i had a baby that was made from rape then i would still have the child. YEah it is not the best way for a converstation later on in life, but atleast it will give me hope that i once lost if i was raped.

message 37: by Amber L. (new)

Amber L. (amberlinn) I would never be able to kill a poor thing. That baby has a chance at life. But only if you give it to them.
Ifm you hate yourself, your parents will kick you out with no where to go, you cant handle it, then ADOPTION!
That poor baby, maybe your future best friend, has a chance to live, to breathe and MAYBE bring something to this earth.

Think of it this way.
Your parents didn't want you. Hated you. They murder you in your sleep. Your doing the same thing to that baby.

I would have the baby, end up keeping it because I love everything! My parents have no say in my decision. Thats my baby.

If I were raped, It would depend. I mean. I have to ask myself, would I be able to live with a monsters baby?

I would have that baby even if it killed me. It has a chance at a future just like your parents gave you. Why not pass it on and let them have a chance?

message 38: by Alice (new)

Alice (aliciairene) Well, if you see it that way, of course I wouldn't want to hurt that baby. And yeah, maybe you're right. It does deserve a chance to live, to breathe, to love.
And perhaps, because it was made that way, it deserves all the love of the world.
