So you know that is an incredibly inappropriate question. However you are a smart man ,two tours in Iraq and a tour in afganastan... An infantry man. You know the answer.
holy shit!!! you officially became the most bad-ass person i know in goodreads!!!! also you know me by now! inappropriate is not in my vocabulary!
question #2! why do you live in Alaska of all places...?

Growing up in Chicago instills a particular sence of cynicism toward people. Once I was out of the marines I decided it was a good time to move, or end up on the nightly news. Something about sitting in rush hour traffic really grated on my nerves.
i see your point! traffic is a bitch! still! wasn't it difficult to adapt to such a different environment?
Not so much. I'm not a fan of excessive heat. The biggest challenge for me, as a child of the information age, was stepping back in time technologically. Alaska is a good 10 years behind the rest of the country. That is mitigated a bit because only one hobby of mine requires technology. Gameing.
ha! i never took your for a hardcore gamer, dude! do yo have a ps3 ??? i got rid of my Xbox and i'm only on the PS3 network now... if you do we can still have that match!
Q: 10 years??? that's scary, my berry! another teen i always been curious about is your job! what is it exactly that you do in the oil plants??

Well... I actually started out as a pipeline ranger. I did that for 8 months. During that time I went to school and was certified as a technician. There are 5 levels of tech's. 1 being the lowest. One is "promoted" based on need and a test. Again 7 months later I was a tech 3. Duties are general operation and trouble shooting abnormal operation. Currently I am a tech 5. My area of responsibility is 237 miles of pipe 3 facilities and 24 satellite facilities. I inspect and maintain all equipment/structures in my area of responsibility. I have 9 tech under me. Should be 26 but with BP running the show... I'm also on the engineering team. We fabricate hardware and machinery to deploy on the line. Everything on the line is designed specifically for the line so we can't just go to lowes to pick up parts when things break. We have to make the replacements. When something breaks a lot we engineer a new concept device to mitigate the weak link in the system.
WOW! you deal with some complicate shit!!!
one thing i've been dying to ask you! awhile a go you posted in THC something about all of our needs in the oil department are pretty much covered for the next 100 years... i dont know what you mean with that! how do y'all measure it???

I think I was referring to the north slope production here in Alaska. There is a lot of propaganda out there. Some of it is from oil haters and some of it is propagated by the industry itself. They keep saying were running out of oil, what they really mean is were running out of oil on paper. Wells that once were considered " dry" have since proven to be capable of production... Think capillary refill. But since the wells were officially closed we( the oil industry) have to treat the wells as if they don't exist. The government blocks "new" well development as a general rule.
hahahah "oil haters!" i'm confuse! it's like we have our own shit but we want the one over there? ha! and they call me crazy!
what the hell you shoot at when you go have fun with your 50 cal?

I use both hand tools, and power tools, but not mike hawk. I make/have made: bookshelves, tables, chess boards, trebuchets, balista, garages, room additions, cabinets, entertainment centers, hope chests, and an old-school clock that uses water to drive the mechanism... found the plans for it on some "ancient machinery" website.... I'll see if I can find the site again. I want to build more stuff from them.
WTF!? you build entire garages???? and ancient weapons of sieage!? the fuck! that's bad ass! and i use to think i was bad-ass for carving a little sword out of a piece of Caoba wood!!!! you have ancient water clock thingies!!!! this interview ends now!!! i will not have you come here and make me feel like a pussy!
