it isn't worded YA-specific - seeing as this is a YA group, I could assume that all books should be YA, but I wanted to make sure. The following are books that I think could qualify toward this - would you mind looking them over and letting me know if they do or not?
The Giver - MC appears to be the only one with the ability to see the world for what it is
Haroun and the Sea of Stories - "storyteller who loses his skill and a struggle against mysterious forces attempting to block the seas of inspiration from which all stories are derived"
I Am Number Four - "We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books"
The Ruby in the Smoke: A Sally Lockhart Mystery - "child" detective

Yay, thanks. I'd've responded quicker, but I've been in the hospital. So now I'm all behind in my reading. Boo.
Well, since I finished it today, I guess it counts for November... Incarceron by Catherine Fisher LOVED it! I can't believe I put off reading this book for so long! Protagonist (Finn) is a Starseer, and has visions from Outside.
Points earned: 2

Mmm I got that book today to start reading. I have the ARC for the sequel so I thought I should read Incarceron first >.<
Heather wrote: "I read Scumble (I was only a quarter of the way through it on November 1, I swear.) I adore these books. :)"What unique talent does the characters have Heather? That's the sequel to Savvy right? Are they both good?

I'm glad you are back and better Jesi :)
Amy wrote: "How do people get ARC copies?"Usually they are a blogger or know the author or write to a publisher, etc.
That's pretty cool.So for November, would The Alchemyst work? I posted it in October b/c it was magical but wondering if it was also considered a unique talent.

Todd has a very unique talent. Won't give it away, though, for those of you who haven't read the series. A MUST read!

Im going to say The Strange Case of Origami YodaDwight is a kid with the ability to make origami objects...in this case yoda...who appears to be able to give really sound advice where Dwight, whose finger he resides on, seems clueless and weird.
Also...I have ARC's of things because I work in a bookstore...first come first serve, so I stalk where we put them...
I really liked Origami Yoda. It is a quick easy read (atleast for adults lol). The main question of the book is if Origami is for real or not...or is the weird kid faking it. Then you go through stories of a few different kids telling of their experiences with Origami Yoda and how he either helped or failed them. Its really cute. At the end there is even a "how to make an origami yoda"...or atleast in my version there is, I doubt it was taken out (I have an ARC..)
I have a publisher that from time to time sends me emails about new books, but they aren't that exciting. LOL. I do use the giveaways but haven't won anything yet.

Karis, when did you read Seeing Redd? If you read it in November, you did earn 1 point, but if you read it in December, since you already got November points, it wouldn't count. Please let me know :)
