Daydreamer Notes: Species
Teliken- Teliken is probably the second most common of species. Telikens have traits of Faeries, Pixies and Elves. Their lifespan is about that of an Elf, but a few years shorter usually. Their wings are smaller than a Faerie's, but are the same style. Telikens are known to have powers, much like a Gifted. Telikens can blend into human society better then most other creatures. In the Teliken community, they are ruled by a royal family. Telikens have set up towns throughout the world specifically for their kind, however some chose to live among humans.
Faerie- Faeries are probably the most common species. They blend in well with humans, however are usually slightly shorter. Their wingspan is usually around twenty feet, and they are iridescent and gossamer. Faeries have the longest of any species' life-span. They live for at least 1,000 years--unless by unatural causes(i.e. murder, car crashes, or some sicknesses)--but they can choose how old they look.
Pixie-
Elf- Elves are one of the more common species. All Elves can fly and speak to animals. They also have pointed ears. Their lifespan is usually around four hundred years. There are six different species of Elves; Woodland, Wind, Water, Fire, Light and Darkness. Darkness and Light Elves are the two rarest of all Elves. Each species has it's own specific abilities, along with the abilities all Elves posses. Woodland Elves can usually manipulate the earth and around them, to fit their needs. Wind Elves can control the wind currents and occasionally create their own to fit their needs. Water Elves can manipulate water, including the water particles in the air, to fit their needs. Fire Elves can only manipulate existing fire, however, they can increase or decrease the amount of fire to fit their needs. Light Elves can create and manipulate light and light rays. Darkness Elves can create and manipulate shadows and every other form of darkness. Darkness Elves are the rarest of all Elves. There are only twenty known Darkness Elves.
Ariean-
Gifted- A Gifted is a human who has been given special powers. Most often the result of a Faerie and and a human. Gifted's have a prolonged life, much like a Faerie's, but not quite as long, often they only live for around 680 years, but don't look much older than 80 or possibly even 90 at that age. Also, they do not have wings. A Gifted's powers can be anything, but most common are shape-shifting, clairvoyance, and telekinetic powers. Gifted's often do not know of their heritage.
Dialon-

I still have to finish Pixie, Ariean, and Dialon, but luckily I know what all of them are(after going through a few...rough patches to figure out Dialon). I'll finish them ASAP and post them. The next thing will be Powers, then Protectors & Charges, Famous Characters, Imfamous Characters, and, finally, Clans.

There's just one thing that I'm not sure if you'll get confused about, so I'll explain it just in case. Jemmy is seventeen in the story itself, but in the prologue she's nineteen. So the entire story is a flashback, that'll lead up to what she's talking about in the prologue. Okay, that's all. Go read.
Yay you posted it, you already know I think its really good, so please tell me if you post more.

(Oh, this is at Jemmy's seventeenth b-day, someone just knocked on the door, and Jemmy's mom went to get it.

My mom came back followed closely by two men in suits, sunglasses, and those ear communicator things. They were definitely government people. They sat down on a couch opposite of me. My mom still stood at the doorway .
"Jemmy," The way she said it, I thought I was in major trouble. Great, just what I needed. "These men want to talk to you." And if you did anything wrong, I want to know about it. I added mentally.
"You're Jemalina Ser--" One said, rather officially.
"It's Jemmy." I cut him off, quickly. No matter how high up he was for any government, nobody calls me Jemalina. He stiffened, not really sure how to respond.
"Okay, Jemmy, is it?" I nodded. "Well, we'd like to talk to you for a moment."
"Yeah, I got that. Most people don't stop by, to look at a person, they come to talk. Also, you're already talking to me. So, yeah, that was kinda obvious." The government guys--or as I started to think of them as the GGs--laughed nervously.
"Yes, I suppose so. I am Bryant Spencer, and this is my partner, Royce Evans."
"Okay?" Come on all ready, get on with it, why am I in trouble.
"Now, first off, you aren't in any trouble." Cue sigh of relief from Mom.
"Then why are you here?"
"Well," Bryant--who names their kid Bryant? That's almost worse than Jemalina--shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "You've been selected for the IESP."
"The what?"
"IESP--Intergalactic Exchange Student Program." Royce said, as though just saying that would make us go, "Oh, I've heard of that." Which he was sadly mistaken.
"So?" I tried not to laugh as Royce took a shocked breath.
"So? So? It's only one of the most prestigous events you can take place in. And, you've been selected to do so!" I didn't know a fully developed guy's voice could go that high. Or squeak like that.
"Then why haven't I ever heard of it?" At this point Royce's face was red. And so was mine. From trying not to laugh.

"Why are you such a smart-ass?"
"Well, I wouldn't have to be such a smart-ass if you weren't such a dumb-ass." I said. The next thing I knew my face was stinging. "Did you just bitch slap me?"
"I don't know. Did it feel something like this?" He raised his had and was about to slap me again when I grabbed it and bit it as hard as I could. Then, all hell broke loose. In the form of a cat fight. With a dude. And people say that I'm pathetic.

Come November, I'll put everything else on hold to work on my NaNo, but since I can't write it yet, I've only got the synopsis: Exchange Jemmy Larson is not your typical teenager in the year 2198. Also, if I ever finish the prologue, I'll post another story called The Secret Diary of Emily Carlton: Emily Carlton had everything coming to her. She was a child prodigy. Had great friends. Everything a girl could ask for...Until the car accident that killed her.
A few monthes after the accident, Lisa and Caren--Emily's two best friends--were helping her mom clean out Emily's room. While cleaning, they found a diary hidden in the back of one of her drawers. They started to read it and realized that Emily's life was far from perfect, and the accident was probably just the opposite.
