ONTD discussion

I haven't read the third book and I don't know if I want to read it. Should I? Did the third book affect how you felt about the rest of the series? One of my co-workers was complaining about how the third book ruined the series for her.

You felt a bit more disconnected from Katniss, but there's a plot-related reason for this. The book was darker (many important characters died) and it lacked the hope you got used to in the first one. But, personally speaking, I didn't think it ruined the series at all. I guess people had certain expectations and Suzanne Collins did not go for the obvious. There's a happy ending (kind of), but I guess it's not the ending everyone was hoping for. I think it made everything seem more realistic, tbh.
