Recently picked up The Death of King Arthur: The Immortal Legend by Peter Ackroyd. Anyone fancy it as a Yule read?

I haven't found it available in the states with any kind of discount -- and cover price is too high for me right now. Maybe someone over near you could join in a read though.
I have to read The Mists of Avalon for my course... I got 200 pages in before and gave up. If you're willing to chivvy me through it...
Aye.Comments on the group or start a general discussion open to all on the book?
Heard mixed thing about it. Haven't read any Arthurian stuff in a wee while, thought I'd give it a bash.
Why did you give up by the way?
Whatever you think best!I got bored, basically. I've seen feminist retellings done since Bradley's and done more enjoyably, so... Yeah, got bored. Lecturer insists it's great stuff though.
Oh, I'm really looking forward to it now...(tongue pops from cheek)If thrown open to all and sundry we would need a "Discuss This Book" stylee topic...any ideas?
I only ask as you may get some benefit from other folk's ideas due to your course, may be able to bolster your discussions with lecturers etc with ideas from outwith the specialty.
Also, as I've not even started reading it I have no ideas as to what would be good topics.
As to other feminist re-telling, any pointers?
I did think there was good stuff in it -- particularly the beginning, where it takes time with Igraine. I got annoyed when it abandoned her and stopped seeing her so sympathetically.Other ideas -- Persia Woolley, mainly, who manages to be actually sympathetic even to Guinevere. I quite liked Sarah Zettel's reinterpretations, but they're very romance-novel ish. And for all its faults, Mercedes Lackey's Gwenhwyfar: The White Spirit was quite fun.
I can share the topics my lecturer gives us to discuss, when he hands 'em over, if that will help. It'll probably be stuff like "how successful was the feminist reimagining of Morgan Le Fay?", "did any female characters get left behind by it?"...
OK will starting with: "How successful was this as a feminist re-interpretation of the Arthurian cycle?"And seeing where that leads us...
