Appearance: Really long black hair, red streaks, eyes that look almost sliver, really tall, slender but muscular. Let's just say her looks could kill.
Personality: Fierce but show-off-ish, devilish, good heart, sly but clever, mischievous.
Place they live (Idris, Institute, etc.): London Institute
Skills: Very well balanced, fast runner, since she shows off, she gets into trouble.
Weapon of choice: Bow and arrow

Skills: She's very gracefull and extremly good at hand-to-hand combat. The term "silent as a cat" would descibe her well, as she moves soundlessly. She throws knives well, but is unable to hit a target with a gun.

History: Mella has lived at the London Institute for as long as she can remember. She never knew her parents, but she has been told that they died fighting off demons.

The Infernal Devices
Name: Deacon Strongbow
Age: 18

Appearance:

Personality: Deacon is very strong-willed. He doesn’t talk much, and generally prefers to keep to himself. He’s passionate but carries a God-complex, in that he believes he can save everyone. This only makes it harder on him when circumstances prevent this. He harbors no ill-will toward Downworlders as a rule, but is still wary of them (as he is of any new person he meets).

Skills: Deacon is highly skilled with a sword, but can confidently wield a dagger if need be. He has immense physical strength, though his frame isn’t overly bulky.
Weapon of choice: Sword
History: Deacon grew up in the London Institute, and spends his time running patrols as well as helping to train younger Shadow Hunters. His parents were killed by a shape shifting demon when he was five years old.
Crush: Open
Other: Deacon still has nightmares of his parents’ deaths, believing that he could have saved them. He shoulders guilt for this, and that makes him believe he’s not a good person. For this reason, he tends to keep people at arm’s length.

Appearance: Short (5'1), lean, pale, light green eyes, her black hair falls to her shoulders, it's curly, but they're loose curls.

Personality: WHEN SHE WAS INSANE: She's extremely hyper most of the time, and some think she's a bit insane. She has mood swings- from extremely excited, to grave and sad, from a death rage, to a bouncy happiness. She is a bit off in the head, but she's a good Shadowhunter. Sometimes she'll stop what she's doing and leave the room, other times she'll close her eyes and just start crying out of nowhere. She's impatient and has the attention span of a squirrel.
WHEN SHE REGAINED HER SANITY: She has a laid-back, detached sort of attitude, like she knows what's wrong with her, who she is, and she's proud of it, but she isn't arrogant. A hard-core kind of girl that didn't really know it, but it's obvious to everyone else. Think Thalia from Percy Jackson and the Olympions.
Place they live: London Institute
Skills: She's faster than most Shadowhunters, and agile. She loves to sneak up on her victims, but is great at hand to hand combat. Strong.
History: She refuses to tell people where she came from, and what happened to her. They can't get any information, no matter how they ask her.
She arrived at the Institute only a year ago, and she has a horrible past before that.

Other: She hates her parents, has no idea where they are, and doesn't care.

Name: Ash
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Appearance: He has long (almost but not quite shoulder length), unruly dark hair and pale, clear eyes with a tinge of blue in them. He's tall and muscled, but not overly so. Pale skin.

Personality: He's an average character. He gets stressed a bit too easily, and doesn't make many friends. Tries to do everything right, but can't, and it really torments him. An idiotic, bossy, untrusting jerk.
Place they live: London Institute
Skills: Strong and fast. He has great coordination and skill with weapons.
Weapon of choice: Seraph blade and dagger
History: He originally lived in Idris, and he is an ancestor of Jade. His parents died at a demon attack that they all came to investigate in London. He lived on his own for the following 6 years, until he found this Institute half a year ago.
Crush: Deacon. But he fakes loving Mella. Because he doesn't want to be bi.
Other: Him and Deacon are parabati. Bisexual and tries not to think about it.

Personality: Amara is very shy, but comfortable around those who live in the Institute with her. She’s passionate and impatient. She’s very loyal.

Skills: Amara excels at evasive maneuvers, and has a generally calming effect on people. She can run particularly fast.
Weapon of choice: Seraph blade
History: Not much is known about Amara’s past. She has lived in the Institute for as long as she could remember.

Other: Though petite, she is feisty and never backs down from a fight.

Gender: f
Apperence: Dark hair, eyes green as emralds, skin like ivory, and a lean but muscullar build. People describe him as a beautiful flower laced with poisin.
Personality: He doesn't let people near him, doesn't let people get to know him. He keeps a wall up, but isn't mean or rube, but just distant.
Place where they live: London Institute
Skills: He has good aim with a gun, cross bow, and bow and arrow. He also can climb building, finding foot holes that are ussually un-seen, and can sword fight with a katana.
Weapon: Katana or crossbow
History: Doesn't talk about it. Ever.

Other: Loves to climb out of his room and use the windows to get to his favorite spot on the roof.

Personality: She doesn't trust very many people and is kind of shy. She usually keeps to herself but can be very arrogent and opinionated when it suits her.

Skills: Good with daggers and throwing knives, but is better with hand to hand combat
Weapon of choice: Daggers
History: Her mom died when she was a few years old, she lived with her father in America, and he encouraged her to wear her hair short and to dress in boy's clothing to get her better schooling. As she got older she naturally prefered boy's clothing over dresses, but wears them when need be. After her dad died she left to go to the london institute where her mom had grown up and has only just arrived.

Other: She reads and writes, and likes to fight although she knows she shouldn't.

Okay. Go ahead and jump in. Ask all the questions about the role-play to the other characters and you will get the information about what is going on eventually. And remember, try not to post things like "Alexandria had him struggling on the ground after a quick kick to the head," or "When Deacon looked at her in surprise, she-"
We try to let the other characters have a chance to react to moves, and only the character's role-player can determine what the character looks at, says, or does.
The same goes with the death of another character. You must have permission.
And also, make sure you don't have a Mary Sue character (One who is completely and utterly perfect and cannot be defeated.)

Can shadowhunters use magic? It doesn't go with the original book...

And I have a bi shadowhunter in the Infernal Devices Roleplay! I haven't developed him very well, yet, though....

Well, its just that in all the books, weapons never had elemental powers, I'm pretty sure you have to be a warlock to even use magic at all. Magic is a demonic force that shadowhunters wouldn't dare use, ever. And I don't think it consists of elemental control (unless, of course, you're a warlock.)
You could be a warlock allied with the shadowhunters. They're already allied with a vampire and a werewolf. And they used to be allied with a warlock. But she died.

no i don't mean MAGIC i just mean like weapons that use POWER like a water dagger where the blade IS water or flameing arrows that automatically ignite get it so if the word magic it self was confusing

But still... Blades of water and automatically igniting arrows just don't fit into the Mortal Instruments world. They use Angelic power in their weapons, but that doesn't include anything elemental.
It's kind of a stretch, and if he had those weapons, others would, too. It just altogether doesn't quite fit. You can have a unique weapon, maybe with hightened Angelic power or something that no one else has, but it has to fit with Cassandra Clare's Shadow World.

That sounds fine to me. :) Could you try to be more literate in your posts? I'd like to keep these threads clear from most chat-speak and grammar/spelling errors as possible.

Personality: Shy but spunky, doesn't like to take handouts. She likes to work, but won't do something that she thinks is useless. She also loves to learn and read. She's very sweet, but can be very stubborn as well.

Skills: Extremely flexible and agile, almost like a cat. Very good in hand to hand combat, but kind of clumsy with weapons

History: Felicity comes from a legendary family of Shadowhunters. She had been living in Idris and was sent to (I'm not sure what city she's supposed to be in :D) on a mission. On the verge of completing her mission, she took a risk and made a deal with a warlock. When the warlock died because of this mission, her memory was affected. She still remembers basic things, like that she is a shadowhunter and her name and everything, but she isn't so sure about her history, and doesn't remember anything from the past few weeks

((Sounds fine to me, except that in the roleplay, she pretty much would have blown by a huge scene in the front yard of the institute where Shaye and Lex are talking to a demon. A strange demon. Anyway, you might want to back up to make the roleplay more realistic. :) ))
