The County Library discussion

Help! I need to buy holiday gifts for a 6-year-old niece and a gaggle of preschool-age nephews, and of course they are all getting books. What should I get them? What are you getting the kids in your life? Here's one idea:

I have kids those ages and genders, so here's what's HOT at our house--

6-yo girl: Daisy Meadow's Rainbow Magic books. I'm sick to death of reading them, but my daughter LOVES them! The Party Fairies are, I believe, the newest set.

Anyone: Is Your Buffalo Ready For Kindergarten?
How Rocket Learned to Read
Splat the Cat books
Russel the Sheep books
ANYTHING by Mo Willems- the man's a genius

Preschool age boys: I'm Dirty (or any of their other books- I'm Mighty, I'm Bad, etc)
That's Not my Dinosaur (or Polar Bear)
How Do Dinosaurs.....
Sandra Boynton's Little Pookie books (or just about any of her others)
Click Clack 123 or ABC (or any of the others)

Mo Willems' Elephant and Piggie books are FABULOUS for ANYONE. My kids have a whole stack of them out of the library right now.

Scooby Doo books are generally good too.

The book that our granddaughter loves are the Ladybug Girl. There are several ones now, and we've bought each one for her.
