C I found this AWESOME website today guys! It's called I Write Like and all you do is paste a few paragraphs from something that you have written. Then the site will tell you which famous writer that you write like.

I took it several times and pasted a few paragraphs from various things that I have written and was surprised that I got the some of the same results, sometimes more than twice in a row!

Here were my results:

Dan Brown: Author of The Da Vinci Code (I got him 5 times!)

Ian Fleming: Author of Casino Royale and the other James Bond books

Ray Bradbury: Author of Fahrenheit 451

Stephen King: Author of The Shining (I got him 2 times!)

Overall this analyzer is really fun although I'm unsure about how accurate it is. Try it out and feel free to post some of your results below.

message 39: by Annabelle (new)

Annabelle (mrs-varen-nethers) | 100 comments Oooh, this was fun! But I put in so much writing! I have a lots of writing not posted on Goodreads, including a ten-chapter novel-in-progress.

Here are all my results:
Neil Gaiman |
Stephenie Meyer |||
Dan Brown ||||| ||
Margaret Atwood |
Chuck Palahnuik |
Annie Rice ||||| ||
Leo Tolstoy ||
Mark Twain ||
Stephen King ||||| ||||| |||
Vladimir Nabolov |
J.D. Salinger |
Kurt Vonnegut |

And I put in two academic pieces just for fun and got:
Edgar Allan Poe |
David Foster Wallace |

Having read works at one point by all of these authors, I can't say I agree. At all.

message 44: by Joyzi (new)

Joyzi (joit) | 23 comments So these are the different results:

I'm Already Torn- Stephenie Meyer
A WTF Justin Bieber Story- Cory Doctorow
Spit or Swallow- Chuck Palahniuk

I wonder how the computer analyze this, is this a joke or for real?

message 45: by C (new)

C I'm pretty sure that it's not all that accurate all the time. But to get the most accurate results, make sure to only put about one to two paragraphs into the analyzer at a time. Once I started to do that, I started getting the same author every time I tried it.

message 46: by Joyzi (new)

Joyzi (joit) | 23 comments I tried doing what you recommend Carina:

So I write like:

Stephenie Meyer- six times
Cory Doctorow- five times
Raymond Chandler- three times
Stephen King- two times

I also write like Agatha Christie, Mark Twain, Bram Stoker, Margaret Mitchell and J. D. Salinger.
