Ok, so most of you have probably realised that I haven't been active much recently, but I do intend to change that!
Anyway, just in case I don't find time to come on here too often, I think it's best if we have a couple of moderators.
I have a few people in mind who I think should be moderators, but thought I'd ask all your opinions on who you want to be moderators or who wants to do it, so give your thoughts and opinions here :)

Em (emmap) | 2702 comments Hi Zoe, busy times eh! I check in pretty regularly so I'd be happy to help with moderating if you'd like?! There are a couple of others who spring to my mind but I wouldn't like to volunteer someone else in case they're not keen!!!

Yeah, I think you're probably thinking of some of the same people as me! I'd love for you to be a moderator :) I'll sort it out now!

message 4: by Adrienne (new)

Adrienne | 227 comments Hi Em and Zoe,send them a PM I'm sure they'd be quite flattered....sorry if you guys have already done that. I think some people are maybe shy about volunteering in an open forum just incadse they're not the ones you have in mind.

That's not a bad idea Adrienne! I should think about doing that soon!

Em (emmap) | 2702 comments As you may have noticed we have a new moderator among us! Ian has very kindly offered to assist in moderating our group - thanks Ian.

Thanks everyone. I hereby promise to be a benign dictator - now to organise the coup and get rid of Liz, Em and Zoe

Bill | 2771 comments Don't worry, Em, you have a very loyal Palace guard.. for a minor fee at any rate.. ;0)

You can always come and hide out in Singapore with me Em!!! (We can then regroup and launch a counter-invasion...) ;)

message 17: by Em (new)

Em (emmap) | 2702 comments I'd love to hide out in Singapore Liz, I'll just have to sell the family car to fund my trip!

message 18: by Ian, Moderator (new)

Ian (pepecan) | 5078 comments Mod
If there's a trip to Singapore available, I'll consider cancelling the coup

message 19: by Em (new)

Em (emmap) | 2702 comments Would you also consider funding the trip? I appear to have spent all my money on blimmin' Kindle Store...

I know the feeling....I'm trying to be good at the moment - 4 days of abstinence so far

message 21: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments I too, have been very good and not bought anything all week.

message 22: by Ian, Moderator (new)

Ian (pepecan) | 5078 comments Mod
Damn aand blast.....succumbed to temptation. Well, 4 days did seem like a long time for this kindle addict

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) | 3119 comments I walked round Waterstone's and The Works and didn't buy one book......how good is that?

message 24: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments Well done, Lynne.

Are you sickening for something Lynne??

Lynne - The Book Squirrel (squirrelsend) | 3119 comments Yes Ian I must be! I do have two bookclub reads to read in the next month though, one nearly 1000 pages in two weeks and a 500 plus in a month!

And I really do have enough don't you think?

message 27: by Ian, Moderator (new)

Ian (pepecan) | 5078 comments Mod
It's all relative Lynne. Not all of us have your library like facility at home.

message 28: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments My kindle's name is 'my library' and I've ordered a library style skin for it.

What's happened to your blue one??

message 30: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments Well, I like the back as it's a lovely deep blue with the nice black tree but the front has too much yellow and red and is irritating me!

message 31: by Nick 2E0NAQ (new)

Nick 2E0NAQ (nick196742) | 630 comments My Kindle is in a nice leather case only because it makes it easier for me to hold it.

message 32: by Ian, Moderator (new)

Ian (pepecan) | 5078 comments Mod
My kindle remains as naked as the day it was unwrapped and will remain so until a Kenny Dalglish is King skin is brought out

message 33: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments Don't you have a nice cover for when you take it out? I have a pink m-edge one.

message 34: by Em (new)

Em (emmap) | 2702 comments Before I got a cover for mine I was really worried about it getting bashed about in my bag!

message 35: by Deanne (new)

Deanne | 651 comments Red leather with a built in light, though I have a friend who made a cover for hers.

message 36: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments Are we having a poll?

Helen wrote: "Are we having a poll?"

For next month's genre challenge? Oh yes, leave it with me, should get it done tomorrow....

message 38: by Ian, Moderator (new)

Ian (pepecan) | 5078 comments Mod
I thought you meant a poll on kindle covers???

message 39: by Susan (new)

Susan So did I, Ian!

message 40: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments Ah, butLiz is cleverer than you Ian!! Although we could poll covers - mines m-edge!

message 41: by Ian, Moderator (new)

Ian (pepecan) | 5078 comments Mod

Helen wrote: "Are we having a poll?"

BTW genre challenge poll is done and should be 'open' very soon...

Kindle-cover poll sounds a little more complicated to me.... ;)

I've been trying to decide what cover to get myself... is it worth the cash getting the kindle-branded leather ones with the light, or should I save my pennies and buy a generic one? Oops wrong strand....

message 43: by Bill (new)

Bill | 2771 comments What is this kindle of which you speak?... ;0)

sssssss........precious, master

message 45: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments I think it's a waste of money Liz, I'm not sure I want a cover that slots inside my kindle. The lighted one actually uses the kindle battery. My m-edge provides good cover and doesn't add too much bulk.

message 46: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments Came on to request a poll so I know what to read Sat. However, noticed my post above, very funny given I bought the lighted cover last Monday!

message 47: by Susan (new)

Susan Helen....a lady is entitled to change her mind!
I second your request ror the poll, please.

message 48: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments Was so wierd to read it after buying one! Decided on it as fed up of dim light in evening; too dark to read but not dark enough to shut curtains.

message 49: by Liz, Moderator (new)

Liz | 4159 comments Mod
Ooops! Sorry, been snowed under with work - I will get onto it straight away ladies (and gents).

The list of genres is getting shorter - we've covered so much already!

Still plenty of interesting genres to try....

message 50: by Helen (new)

Helen | 3460 comments Hmmm, not sure what I fancy out of them!
