Nice topic, Madison.

I think people can. I have a puzzle-piece theory about soul mates and true loves that I won't bore you with, but I truly believe there can be more than one right person for everyone.

message 2: by Lauren (new)

Lauren I think you can experience it more than once but there is someone that you just will ALWAYS love, like if you are in love with someone and then u brake up etc etc... then u meet the person u end up spending the rest of ur life with, it just means u love them alot MORE than u did the other person/people, but u still loved the others, i have explained that all wrong but i hope u get what i mean lol, i'm not good with words haha :P.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I totally understand what you're saying Lauren.

As wonderful as a concept of "one true soul mate" is, it's just not logical with the number of people in the world. I was lucky, I met my soul mate in high school. That isn't to say that if (whoever forbid) something were to happen and I was to die, that I wouldn't want my husband to find love again. It would just be very tragic if there was only one true mate.

message 4: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Glad i didnt totaly confuse u lol.

Yeh i agree, it would be impossible to have just one. It sounds cheesey but i think that you KNOW when the one is the one lol. I think its similar with friends aswel, i think u can always just tell when u r going to be friends with someone for life aswel.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, I agree. I couldn't be nearly as happy with anyone other than my hubby. He just gets me. It wouldn't work with anyone else.

Yes, I think a person can experience love more than once. We might love our parents and our family and some of our friends and certain ideas and concepts and our jobs and pizza and Oreo cookies. But I think you're talking about romantic love and I believe we can have that more than once too if we want.

message 9: by [deleted user] (new)

I agree, Michael. It's impossible to believe there is only one person out there for each person.

message 10: by Kylee (new)

Kylee (kyleeraereader) The romantic teenage girl part of me believes in true love and soulmates and I feel like, sometime in your life you will meet that person, but before then you may love others. But there is a difference between loving someone and really truly loving someone with every fiber of your being.

message 11: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) Thjis is one confusing topic that I usualy ponder upon. Many times in my life I've thot I've found my true love and then it turns out to b rong. Again, right now, i blv I truly love my ex, who I broke up wid but still like. But even then I sumtyms wonder... really? or is it just one of those infactuations dat u get over with.

I do blv that one day i will have truly love som1 with evry fiber of my being... or maybe I already do. lol

Jade Alexia | 153 comments M not sure about love cuz from wht I've heard tht they say they love u and when u get married u r their slave :(

message 13: by Emma (new)

Emma (zeeberg) I sure wish there was such a thing as a soulmate. To find "The One" and just know... But I don't think Love is a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Love dosen't have limits, and therefor I believe that love is likely to happen more than once.

message 14: by Amina (new)

Amina (journalistam) True.Or not happen at all. Depends, really

message 15: by Jade (new)

Jade Alexia | 153 comments Is there a difference in soul mate and heart mate?

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

I've never heard the term 'heart mate', but I like it.

message 17: by Jade (new)

Jade Alexia | 153 comments I've read tht in a book but don know wht it means

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

It sounds beautiful. I wonder if it's a companion term for 'soul mate'.

message 19: by Jade (new)

Jade Alexia | 153 comments Ikr!! I like it better thn soul mate cuz soul mate kind of sounds as if ur... I don't know! To me it sounds as if ur beloved has died and tht he will even then stay with u as in ur heart... Lol crazy me!

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

I get that.

Heart Mate sounds more 'in the moment'.

message 21: by Jade (new)

Jade Alexia | 153 comments I know! It's much sweeter and beautiful :)

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

Rachel (aka. Kaiserin Sisi) (looney-lovegood) | 244 comments So, what do you guys think of this article? http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/l...

It suggests that the guys idealized in teen romances--chivalrous and adoring--is actually based on sexism.

message 26: by Andrez (new)

Andrez (andrez-ssi) very interesting

message 27: by Robyn (new)

Robyn | 56 comments I think it is possible to fall love more than once but i was actually just discussing this with my sister yesterday and we said that if our bfs/husband were to die we couldn't go or fall in love with another person i would find it extremely difficult. So i think it depends on the person and the sitution.

message 28: by Robyn (new)

Robyn | 56 comments we were talking about it due to watching hollyoaks ** may i add lol

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

message 33: by Jade (new)

Jade Alexia | 153 comments Lol!

message 34: by Gatorman (new)

Gatorman I believe there is more than one person out there for everyone. Doesn't mean I don't believe my wife is the "one" or my "soul mate", but if something were to happen, I believe that eventually I could find someone to love again. Eventually. Otherwise, like Candace said, life would be pretty tragic.

Maria [the clockwork creeps on useless lives] (mariachhile) | 14 comments I think that you can love multiple people. I don't believe that there is a difference between platonic and romantic love, so a mother could love her husband and son in the same way. It's just that she would never think of having sex with her son like she would think about loving her husband, because that is frowned upon greatly, and is really wrong. But she loves them equally and in the same way. She could also love her best friend, in the same way, but seeks different things from her.

I think that you can love multiple people, using that theory. Yes, life would be tragic if you didn't love somebody, but usually you do have family or friends to comfort you and love you.

Jerry | 850 comments I THINK LOVE IS DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!!!!! just sayin'

message 37: by Lauren (new)

Lauren really?....why?

message 38: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 850 comments because ppl get all mushy and gross, and all self-absorbed, and i think sucking each other's faces off (commonly known as kissing)is gross as well. love makes likeable ppl intolerable.

lol is it weird that i find both of those term freaky?? lol

Lauren Donatello wrote: "because ppl get all mushy and gross, and all self-absorbed, and i think sucking each other's faces off (commonly known as kissing)is gross as well. love makes likeable ppl intolerable."

Not always. My auntie and uncle arent effectionite with each other, they dont even hold hands. Love isnt actualy like the stereo-typical kind thats promoted on Valentine's Day. Thats called being overly attracted to someone so you feel the need to cause vomit worthy public dissplays of effection, When in reality people that actualy love each other arent always showing the world what they shold be doing in privite, they just are normal with a normal amount of effection - cause hey, they are a couple - but people in love also argue and go through hard times. Its not really all mush, half of it isnt, thats lust and teenage hormones. But, whatever kills your cat i suppose.

message 41: by Jerry (new)

Jerry | 850 comments "whatever kills your cat"? i like that phrase!
but i still think love is stupid
