Maybe they're joking around like before the wedding or something. Maybe it's sarcasm. Or they could be talking about their consumation or the transformation

OH when I read the quotes just by themselves, some of them were funny. But when I find them in the book..... it just makes it seem so different.

Yeah that's true, not how I pictured they would be used at all. SOme of them though were still funny in the book. Like the feathers one :)
