Anyone read this series? If you haven't I'd really recommend it. I loved it!

Alicia wrote: "I never even heard of this series what is it about?"I haven't read the series yet, but it looks to be a straightforward romance series featuring pirates. =)
And I'll likely be reading them at some point, eventually.XD
Ah hell it just occurs to me, what if SK ties Deadman's Cross to this series too? I hope not. I love her but a few too many cross-overs is a lot.
ROFL! XDNah, I don't think SK is gonna tie Deadman's Cross to this series. From the looks of things, I think this is a series she started a long time ago, before her writing career tanked for a little while.
Honestly I had thought the same of her LOA series. I mean other than the manga style versions of it on her site. I hadn't thought that one had much life til recently. But yea lets hope one series stays in the respective story telling graveyard so to speak haha.
Cindi wrote: "So I'm lost...are these books out yet or not?"Actually been out forever ago. Their from her historical romance line.- https://www.goodreads.com/series/5012... might be able to still catch a deal on them from what I saw on that second one being 1.99 on Amazon.
The tie in was a question at a signing.. SK said she wasn't sure if she was going to have tie in, since (at that time) she hadn't started writing DC, and if she did it would prob just be a cameo. I always forget about this one. I have the first book on my Nook and since this year I am determined to read all my unread ebooks, this may be one of the first ones I get to. Thanx y'all!
Well from what I just saw on here. Says that Deadman's Cross was supposed to have been out May 17th.
I don't see any date for Deadman's Cross yet on GR. Just checked her site too, no date and the dates are going into July for her upcoming releases.
Yeah, that's what I saw also. Darn. Actually, we're in kind of a lull as far as new releases for a while. Darn.
My bad ladies, that was when I added it on that other date. Must still have some new year's "cheer" in my eyes.
Cindi wrote: "Yeah, that's what I saw also. Darn. Actually, we're in kind of a lull as far as new releases for a while. Darn."My new release list has Invision on Mar 29, Born of Legend on June 21, Dragonmark on Aug 2 for SK's.
Although my new release list for any author for the year is rather sparse.
Feb 23: Runaway Vampire - Sands
Mar 1: Dark promises - feehan
Mar 8: Fire Touched - Briggs
mar 29: Invision - kenyon
April 5: The Beast - ward
May 10: Peace Talks - butcher (probably incorrect date)
May 31: The Darkest Torment - showalter
June 7: End of watch - king
june 21: born of legend - kenyon
Aug 2: Dragonmark - kenyon
Aug 2: dark carousel - feehan
Undead & - davidson
Into the Fire - frost
blood paradise - rice
Untitled Guild Hunter - Singh
I've got nothing new for some of my non pnr series authors yet, a few of which I don't really 'expect' this year like Sue Grafton.
I love that you have a list, Myst! I think if I looked at it that way, it wouldn't seem like forever plus I wouldn't forget and miss so many. Do you just search each author's sites for the info?
I search GR, author sites, fb, twitter etc. Mostly GR though. Some authors are just too hard to figure out what their social media handles are. I thought I had Jim Butcher's twitter feed, but apparently it was his publisher? Other authors aren't active enough on social media, or they spam their feeds with non-writing stuff that you miss their next release.Having the list like that in notepad also makes it easier to figure out what to read when. So beginning of august have a light load as I *should* have 2 new releases ready to go. I need to finish catching up on the LotU before May 31st so get 1 book a month done.
Also on GR, there *is* a upcoming books by your read authors feature. It's a nuisance to get to though. Just save the link and change the month on the end to what you want to see. It *usually* lets you see a month in advance. A major downside of this method is EVERY author who you've EVER read gets listed, even if you didn't care about the author's works and only read 1 book by them. So if you read a comic book, you'll be 'spammed' with new comics by the author.
https://www.goodreads.com/new_release...
Option 2 for GR is listopia. It's not as organized, but gives you a better idea of what's coming out and how far out.
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/8... (Jan-June PNR/UF)
https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/8... (July-Dec PNR/UF)
So depending on when an author usually releases a book, I start watching about 6-9 months in advance on their GR page for the new book. Sometimes a book will be listed with a name and year, other times not listed. Or the date will be wrong and changes constantly. So I heard that Peace Talks got delayed which is why I said that May date is probably incorrect. So any book with a 'year' of 2016 is below like Into the Fire and I'll move it up when there is an actual date.
Note I don't have "Crimson Death" by Laurell K. Hamilton listed as I highly suspect it's publish date may be changed. It's scheduled for June 7 on GR and she hasn't even finished writing it yet. Let alone editing it.If it does come out on the 7th...it'll be a royal incoherent foul mess most likely.
And thinking of author sites, SK had a short story (re)release today so that means her website new release schedule should have a new entry...Hmm it appears Born of Vengence got moved up from May 1, 2017 to Feb 1, 2017. Which can't be right as that's a wednesday.
And there's 2 new league titles...Born of Trouble for Dec 8, 2017 *updates list for BoT* *checks calendar* That's a friday...so that date's likely to change too. Finally Born of Darkness for Feb 9, 2018, again a friday so subject to change.
New Hellchaser book scheduled for Nov 1, 2018, a thursday, so that'll change.
Deadman's cross still no date/s listed.
So good timing to look on her site...got 3 new book titles listed to watch for more concrete dates on.
I sometimes get the GR New Releases by Your Author's list but its not consistent and you're right - EVERY writer you ever read is on it. I recently set up a new shelf called "Not Out Yet" but keep forgetting to check it monthly *oops*. I usually just wait until I hear about them more near the real release date, BUT yesterday I added the latest In Death book to my library request and its already got 78 requests so that's not always good enough. For LKH, tho, because her books are always a hot mess I'm ok with waiting :) - I just wish I could stick to my guns about dropping her altogether (there is always hope tho).
Here's my full tbr plan for the year. Not including read-a-longs, and the In Deaths are backups if my other books are all checked out. (I've got a bad history of taking a list of 10 books I want to check out to the library - not all at once mind you, but all of them will be checked out so I need backups for backups on the tbr.)My tbr list is a simple notepad file as notepad loads faster than word. It's also quicker to skim than GR's 20 books per page format. So I delete each book as I start (or finish depending how often I get to the computer) and the list gets shorter each time so you feel like progress is made.
I've also designated (approx) where to find the books, whether it be the ILL system, a friends library, my library or a book I physically own. (This system breaks down when the library removes books to sell at the annual book sale...)
As for new releases, I've figured out my library's system, on the thursday before release, the book will be put into the system. So I know to start checking that thursday to get my hold in. Occasionally it takes awhile for the book to be put in, and I've got to wait for my hold as I didn't check daily to see if it was finally entered, but 9/10 times I'll have the first hold.
And you'll see I've got 2 new releases from 2015 that I never acquired. 1 I think they ended up not printing, the other may just be a delayed buy...it took about 2 months for any library I could access to buy, prepare and shelve Jason. Jeaniene Frost may just not have quite enough circulation for an immediate buy on her anthology.
As for LKH, her writing is a train wreck you don't think could become worse and then she manages to do something even more foul.

Ooookay, so once again I've been proven wrong, lol XDIt turns out that the Sea Wolves IS tied to the Deadman's Cross series, as shown here:
http://www.sherrilynkenyon.com/book-s...
At the very least, Sea Wolves characters will be appearing in DC. =)
So, I stand corrected, at least for the time being. XD
I'm just getting started on A Pirate of Her Own; you can find the ebook for $2.99 USD at different sites. You can also find Master of Seduction ebook for the same price. =)
Anyone interested in book discussions on Sea Wolves?
Argh, you mean I need to acquire more books to read to be caught up on the 'universe' for the new story? There's only 2 sea wolves right?
LOL, yes there are only 2 Sea Wolves, Myst. =)Not entirely sure since I only just started the first book, but it might just be a matter of characters from Sea Wolves making a cameo in Deadman's Cross, and vice versa. So something else to consider before you get those books. =)
