Michelle Gilmore | 3220 comments I just finished reading Devil's Bride. It was ok, but I was wondering if anyone has read further on in the series and wondering what your thoughts were.

Kit★ (xkittyxlzt) | 1416 comments The only Cynster series one I've read was The Promise in a Kiss (Cynster, #7.5) by Stephanie Laurens and I really liked it, good characters, good story. I think it was more like a prequel of some sort, took place before Devil's Bride if I remember right. I've also read The Lady Chosen (Bastion Club, #1) by Stephanie Laurens number 1 of the Bastion Club series, and it was pretty good too I thought.

Zee Monodee (zee_monodee) I started The Reckless Bride a little while ago but couldn't finish the book. The writing droned too much for me and I found it a chore to read that book. The Reckless Bride (Black Cobra Quartet, #4) by Stephanie Laurens

I found Devil's Bride to be a chore at times too. I didn't know if it was the style of writing, or that I just didn't care too much for the hero or the heroine. I've heard so many great things about the Cynter series, and Stephanie Laurens in general that I want to give the series another try.

Hmmm.... Maybe I'll get a copy of the prequel so I can get a better understanding of the Cynster family.

I can't put my finger exactly on what didn't 'click' for me in there. I was prepared to give the characters a chance even if the start kinda grated on my nerves, but then being taken through Europe as if reading a travelogue of the time really made the read drone for me.

I'd love to give her another try, but just not on this series.
