I was just going to ask about this book. I have it on my Kindle!

Yes, Guinevere is part of the Arthur legend so it is celtic also.

Absolutely...."
Kathryn wrote: "Would Avalon High work for part A of this task? Is
enough fire/flames on the cover for part B?"Yes, they both work
★Meghan★ wrote: "I was thinking The Swan Maiden for part A and Firelight for part B would that work?"Yes, they are fine.
Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "I have a book about Guinevere too. It's called Gwenyfar by Mercedes Lackey. Can I use that?"Yes, it seems to be another take on the Avalon legends
This one is a little different, does it work - The Red-Haired Girl from the Bog: The Landscape of Celtic Myth and Spirit. It is a sort of non-fiction book that discusses the place and places of Celtic myth in modern Ireland.
Cindy AL wrote: "This one is a little different, does it work - The Red-Haired Girl from the Bog: The Landscape of Celtic Myth and Spirit. It is a sort of non-fiction book that discusses the place and..."YES!! This sounds like a wonderful book. I will have to see if I can find it somewhere here.
Liz wrote: "Would Here be Dragons or Hood work for part A?"From the description Here Be Dragons seems to be more history than celtic mythology.
After consideration, I will allow Hood, it isn't really based on celtic mythology, since Robin Hood is a more modern myth, but I didn't specify ancient or modern mythology so I will allow it.
How about Stolen Magic? The main character is a Tuatha Dé Danann (it says straight out of Irish mythology...not sure if that is the same thing.
Lauren wrote: "How about Stolen Magic? The main character is a Tuatha Dé Danann (it says straight out of Irish mythology...not sure if that is the same thing."Yes Irish is Celtic
Karen wrote: "Not sure if this is okay: The Book of Three"I don't see a connection to Celtic Mythology
Beth NC wrote: "Karen wrote: "Not sure if this is okay: The Book of Three"I don't see a connection to Celtic Mythology"
The Book of Three and the rest of the series are based on Celtic mythological themes. Many of the characters and situations are direct descendants of Irish and/or Welsh myths.
for part B would you accept Available Light
? she's holding a flaming candle. and for part A, could we read a book of Celtic Myths? like an anthology of myths?
thanks for your help! :)

Then I would say it will work

Yes the candle is great for B and a book on Celtic myths definitely fits the description.
Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "For part B, can I read Feast of Crows(Sword of Fire and Ice) series?"Yes I will allow it. It is a good book, enjoy
Beth NC wrote: "Jayme(the ghost reader) wrote: "For part B, can I read Feast of Crows(Sword of Fire and Ice) series?"Yes I will allow it. It is a good book, enjoy"
I started reading it but other books got in the way.
Here are a few that have been on my TBR list for a while that I think might work for this task: I know The Mists of Avalon will work.
What about -- A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court or Bloodfever. I found Bloodfever on the Library Thing list, but I'm not sure if it'll work... Thanks! ;o)
I'm not sure abotu bloodfever...i'l listening to darkfever right now - its set in Ireland and features the tuahade-danan (although I don't know if that's how its spelt)...so hopefully - I have bloodfever and book 3 on the pile somewhere
Tanja wrote: "Already read this one but highly recommend for Celtic AND it's a big read -- The Mists of Avalon"That is a great series,I am reading Ravens of Avalon this challenge. I have read Mists three of four times.

They are long books, but good. I am in the process of re-reading the series.

I think Kristi asked the question first! but it works for me...I got 2 choices for this one nowBeth NC wrote: "Delicious Dee Challenge Addict wrote: "I'm not sure abotu bloodfever...i'l listening to darkfever right now - its set in Ireland and features the tuahade-danan (although I don't know if that's how ..."
Kristi -- Do Mists! I know it's a very long read but well worth it. Then you might get sucked into the other Avalon books. Like um..*gulp* me! Beth NC -- Mists is so memorable. The miniseries didn't live up to the books. Did you read the two MZB books based off Atlantis and Troy?
Also, the Daughter of the Forest series is WONDERFUL for Part A - the Celtic "swans" myth.
Beth NC wrote: "Valorie wrote: "Will Sword of Darkness work for this?"Yes, any book about King Arthur will work"
Fantastic!
Tanja wrote: "Kristi -- Do Mists! I know it's a very long read but well worth it. Then you might get sucked into the other Avalon books. Like um..*gulp* me!"Mists has been on my TBR pile for forever! I'm going to put it in this challenge somewhere I'm pretty sure (it fits a few other tasks as well). But I want to read Bloodfever, too. I always have this problem. There are just too many interesting books out there that I want to read! ;o)
