Adrian smiled, hands jammed in his pockets as his bare feet padded on the damp sand. His jeans were rolled up, and he had a jean jacket on. The wind rustled his hair, as he stared at the ground. He was taking a walk down memory lane.
"As rugged as the desert is
It can be softened by his kiss,
And the molten lava of the earth,
The very core of our rebirth,
At his command smoothes out the bends,
And sinners will restore amends.
For all their sins make up his smile,
His stunning youth and charm beguile,
The coldest heart could melt in awe,
A puddle then, of lovely flaw."
The voice echoed in the grotto, sweet and melodic in a low and svelte tone. But it was pinged with melancholy and Sappho sighed as she rolled up the classy overalls she was wearing over the simple black bathing suit, a conservative one-piece. Lying on the rock and staring at her rippling reflection in the water, Sappho looked rather like a mermaid; long tendrils of hair kissing the turquoise surface, sweet voice lilting.

Justice peered into the strange cave. A beautiful, melodic voice sounded from within. She stepped closer, not wanting to spy, but not wanting to interrupt the singer.
Adrian looked up, eyes opened wide. He gazed on the angelic being appreciatively. His lips were slightly parted as he stopped in his tracks, his hands went slack as he couldn't come up with anything clever or joyful to say. "My, I must be dead...and gone to heaven." He said, so quiet you had to be right against his face to hear it, and the breeze seemed to take the words from his open mouth.
"As pools shape caves, and wind blows waves,
The palms shall bow to his embrace,
His eyes are sweeter than a song,
The muscles on his arms are strong,
He is my saviour. And he'll be
The only one who will destroy me."
Laying a smooth cheek down on the rock, Sappho stared into the water plaintively, swirling it with a long, blackened finger.

Adrian swallowed, and crouched down by a rock. He listened intently, as he drew in the sand majestic swirls. The music was the only thing he would focus on, like a Siren, he was possesed. An angel lays before him, and he was savoring it.
((Shit, I'm making this all up on the spot LOLZ.))
"For love's like a breeze, fast and slow
A whirlwind one moment then away it will go;
And he is magical, truly godsent--
If he pardons we all shall mend.
Here I lie-- I'm stunned in wonder,
For my heart is torn in pain asunder."
She finished the song and sighed, such a heartbroken, tearing sigh that it brought a tear to her eye. ((Yikes, still in poetry mode.))

Adrian breathed, awestruck. He swallowed, and the back of his landed on a rock softly. He stared at the sky in wonder. Why do you bless me so? He thought wonderuosly. An amazing amount of dreaminess replaced his eyes, as he ran a hand through his hair
Sappho raised her head to look out near the opening of the grotto and stood up so suddenly the rock scratched against her long, bare leg. "Gods, Adrian, I didn't see you there," she said, cheeks hot and red.

Adrian looked towards her. He blushed madly also. "Oh, I wasn't trying to spy. It's just I heard you singing, and it's was...breathtaking. I can't come up with words for it, forgive me." He said and managed a weak smiled as he stood up gracefully.
"Spy?" Sappho choked out, unsure whether to start forward or stay where she was. She was incredibly clumsy and might trip and die-- her mind whirling around unhelpfully in the most pessimistic way possible. "Well... thank you, Adrian. Really." A smile glowed on her face.
((*facepalm* sorry I'm on my iPod and I meant wasn't sorry))
Adrian looked down at his pencil smudged hands, he'd been doing more drawing then usual. "Uhh, no problem. You always sound really good." He said, looking up at her and smiling sheepily.

"Thank you," Sappho echoed, lowering her eyes to stare at the turquoise water lapping at the edge of the rocks. "Inspiration comes easier in this place than anywhere else-- especially in the morning, when my brain's still powering up," Sappho said, her broad, childish smile lighting up her face. "She was an angel of destruction,/ Standing by the sighing seas..."
Adrian grinned also. He listened intently, and kept looking at her. He didn't know what to do, other then stand there and grin. And recently, he didn't think he could do anything except stand there and grin.
"Luring sailors with her song,/ A dancing tune of pleas/ Voice sweeter than sugar/ and lost in delight/ She leads all men to their doom/ From their unearthly flight."
She twinkled a smile at him, tucking her thick hair behind an ear and stepping down from the rock she'd been standing on so she was knee-deep in the aquamarine water. "You like it here as well?"

Adrian nodded. "It reminds me of Greece..." He said, but just the thought of Greece made him speak deeper and with a more prominent accent. He realize how different they were, only he was sure which 'they' he was thinking about.
"Never been," Sappho said with a sigh, remaining where she was, five meters away from Adrian. "But that's where my parents met."
"Yes." Adrian said, somewhat wistfully while he looked out across the lapping waves. "Some say italy is the most romantic city, others say Paris. But truthfully, nothing can bring to people closer then being stranded on a mountainous rock for a few weeks with no comfort but the sound of the waves crashing against the rocks." Adrian said, with a rueful smile.
The way he spoke the words was truly poetic and Sappho laughed quietly, raising a leg out of the water to kick at it thoughtfully. "Do you stay year-round here or do you go back to Greece?" she asked softly, stooping down to pick an elaborate, delicately-coloured pink seashell.
"I have more here then I had back there, and I don't really have a legal guardian so I usually stay here." Adrian replied, dragging his foot through the sand.
"You seem to miss it still," Sappho remarked, sloshing through the water so she could admire the way the seashell glinted in the water. Her own amber eyes flashed in the sun, wet skin and hair glimmering. "Pretty, huh," she said to Adrian, nodding at the shell.

"Yeah, it is." Adrian replied with a smile. Then he looked down at the sand momentarily "Probably never gonna stop missing it." Adrian whispered to himself.
"Well, that's not a bad thing," Sappho reprimanded, tracing a hand over the ridges of the sea shell. "We're always going to miss what we loved best, there's nothing wrong with it and there's no stopping it."
"That's the thing. Sometimes I think coming here was the best decision I ever made." He said, staring into her eyes. "But sometimes, I think I should've stayed." He said, shaking his head. Mist spraying up from the waves had dampened his hair. Recently, whenever I'm with you it brings me to the past, and the present and it's something I love. The way you make me feel, like I have nothing to hide. And when I'm with you I never regret coming to America, because it might not be as beatiful here but Greece doesn't stand a chance against you He thought, and then realized that's what he had been feeling all along. He just hadn't known it.
((AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW))
"I know how that feels," Sappho said quietly. "But you can't choose your family, and that's what leads us here."
You can't choose your lovers, either.

((lmao))
Adrian had a humorless smile on his face. "I could. I could choose my family back in Greece, and I did. Because what you don't have, you make and sometimes that turns out to be better then the original." He said, his smile turning from humorless to rueful.

"Could you ever change the fact that you're the offspring of an immortal?" Sappho asked, still quiet, as she bent down to place the seashell gently on the ground under the lapping waves.
((ugh. Now I do too)) Ahava was mindlessly splashing around the grotto, not caring if she got wet. What wasn't drenched of her hair was blowing around her face. Her Jean shorts and light blue tank top were soaked.
Rosa ambled in the grotto, her bare feet moving delicately over the black rocks as not to get wet. Her white dress blew in a gentle breeze, hanging just above her knees. She ran a hand through her auburn locks as they blew in the wind.
Caleb strolled down to the grotto, hands in his pockets. A smile crossed his mouth as he saw none other than the daughter of Aphrodite. "Hey you," he murmured as he approached.
Rosa turned with a small start, feet almost slipping on the wet rocks. Almost. She caught the wall before she did and smiled. "Hey," she echoed.
"Just a little." She held up her hand and moved herbtwo fingers about an inch apart. "Thaaaat much."
She laughed. "We shall," she countered in an indentical drawl as she took a seat, straightening out her dress gently.
Caleb took a seat beside her on the sparkling black rocks, staring at the lovely place before him. "So, Rosa. How are you this lovely day?"
