Just got Fanon's The Wretched of the Earth. Just finished Jessica Hagedorn's Dogeaters. I think my next one will be The Interpreter: A Novel by Suki Kim.
I only wanted two books: The Thing Around Your Neck by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Sag Harbor by Colson Whitehead
I know that the holidays are long, long, long gone, but I would have loved to have gotten my hands on a copy of "The Collected Autobiographies of Maya Angelo"--my favorite set of autobiographies in the entire world--and a nice second choice would have been a copy of "Some Sing, Some Cry" by Ntozake Shange!Better luck next year...
@Mack I just got a copy of Some Sing, Some Cry. She's coming to Chicago in a couple of weeks to speak at one of the local universities. I'm hoping to make out to see her.
Awesome! What a treat. I've been a devoted fan since I read "Betsey Brown" some time ago (which I got my hands on BEFORE I read "For Colored Girls..." believe it or not!) Keep us posted should you happen to make it out. :)
