The Life of a Poet discussion

Okay. So a haiku is a Japenesse writing style. It follows the 5-7-5 form.
Example:
Squirell in a tree
It jumps, Letting blue jay fly
Let blue jay be!

No. I accidently did that. My whole Lost Pages is Haiku.

5 syllables here
7 syllables go here
5 syllables here

i don't know if i can pull haiku off. especially since i have to be careful with syllables. but i'll try when i have time. i'm a bit busy at the moment. but this was a good addition to the group.

Oww! I hit my arm
My elbow burns with pain!! Oww!!
It really burns! Oww!!!

Gracefully gliding on ice

Wait.....Omg... I wrote THAT in Haiku? I was just saying that...

i have one poem under my poetry folder, Daughter of the Morning that is written in Haiku. Its my favorite style.


With my pen in hand
I am set free through some words
in my poetry

I like it a lot
it's a wonderful poem

ok well actually the purpose of haiku is to freeze one moment in time and learn to understand it fully by describing it.

okay, this is my first time writing haiku so don't laugh if i get it all wrong.

The clouds are parting.
I was having a bad day.
well, not anymore.

The structure it right :)

Everything is calm.
I'm in the eye of the storm.
There is no more pain.

They are sharp and cold.
These icicles are like you.
Through the heart you went.

The sun is shining.
Everything is radiant.
The tombstone is still.

if you count that out.

You guys should really have pantums. I've memorized my favorite order, and am all too often called the pantum queen...
