Current reads:
- General Historical Fiction
- Plantation fiction. This is Michener's novel about the colonization and development of South Africa, and features sections on vineyards, the trekboers (traveling farmers) and more. It's been a long read at more than 1200 pages, and I have 300 to go. I also review books for Amazon Vine, and those books take priority in my reading plans. That's why you'll see that some books go up more rapidly than others. :-)

- General historical fictionHerriott's books are fictionalized autobiographies/memoirs. I am listening to this audiobook right now, as narrated by Christopher Timothy. Timothy played Herriott in the BBC production based on the "All Creatures" novels. So far, I am enjoying it immensely.
Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure of the Speckled Band, and The Adventure of the Retired Colourman - MysteryI'm listening to an audiobook edition of The Adventure of the Retired Colourman. This is a Sherlock Holmes Mystery by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The reader is a little stuffy/ponderous for my preference, but I'm still enjoying it.

This is my review of the audiobook edition of "The Adventure of the Retired Colourman."

I suspect that this one will cross genres from romance to thriller and back again, as Victoria Holt's tales are wont to do:

I loved this book, but I read it about 20 years ago. I highly recommend some of the Courtney books by Smith. SunBird is not one of his best -- my husband couldn't even finish and so I decided not to read.
- Historical thriller (or so I am surmising from the parties involved). I reserve the right to change categories. ;->
My stomach just flipped upside down thinking about you seeing all my comma mishaps. I feel naked! I feel more confident with the presentation of book 2 because Linda B. did the proofing for me. She was great at fixing my speed typing blunders.

I have Twilight of Avalon on my bookshelf -- have you read that one. Not sure of the order you should read them in. I just re-read Taliesin by Lawhead.

I've read several of Lawhead's books; "Taliesin" is very good.
Reclassifying Footsteps in Time as historical YA (despite its fantasy elements). The primary "heroes" (for lack of a better term) are 17 and 14 years old.

- General Historical Fiction, although I may create a category for Westerns as that seems to fit as well.

This book is actually hard to pin down in terms of genre, as it's part fantasy/paranormal and part mystery/thriller.
- I haven't decided how to classify this yet. I'm leaning toward "Christian," as it has to do with the historical events of the crucifixion of Rabbi Yeshua, but it's primarily about Gaius Cassius Longinus, so I may put it under general historical fiction. We'll see.
